Well after a bit of a clean up, and using KFA2's own tool to overclock the gpu, I've got up to 1147. Maybe it was afterburner not applying the overclock properly ? Not sure, but there is a marked difference when using KFA2's own tool.

I'm catching you Delbert :P

I did have it running at 900, and got 1157 but forgot to take a screenshot. It now refuses to run at 900 and crashes every time.

I'm giving up on benchmarking and enjoying some games instead :D

from what i have read, Heaven is not CPU limited.... however, i think it may benefit from some of the SSE41+2 optimisations in newer CPU's....
My benchmarks with different CPU's but the same GPU cards ;)

Out of interest whilst my P8P67-D mobo is away at Asus for the B3 rev, I've used the same clocks below using 5970. The 5970 is in 2nd PC which is [email protected], 8GB DDR2 800MHz, 150GB 10K Raptor Raid-0, and 1TB WD Caviar Black. I'm using the same ATI 11.3 driver from the XFX website with Cap 5 as my 2600k-based rig.

Score: 1394

What I find interesting here... Heaven is stressing mainly the GPU as I thought my relatively poor QX6700 would hamper 5970 performance, as it does gaming-wise, but it only decreases by 3% but my maximum is 3.3fps higher on QX6700 PC! Comparison quoted below. So much for CPUs throttling GPU bandwidth judging by this. If your wanting to judge your GPU performance irrespective of how poor your general setup up, look no further than Heaven for a quick comparison.

AMD XFX 5970 Black Edition @780/4800DDR5. Full system specs in sig.

Score: 1437

OMG @ Vegas score!!!

All hail the new King!:D

Btw, his name is Vega :) But you do need Vegas money to own his 990X based rig. Does Vega have a build log with photos?

With 4x 580s he could compete with ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) ;)

Gobsmacking score.

trigger-happy, I normally find a system bottleneck causes that low min. framerate on my previous setups. Otherwise the drivers haven't sorted out the micro-stutter. The new 11.4s are available and that fixed internet browsers using 99% GPU on hardware accelerated flash pages. Well worth running Heaven 3-5 times to rule out any fluctuations.
