Would this be a good benchmark to test a new 6990 and to assess whether everything in my system is working correctly with it?

Certainly seems to be one of the ones mentioned a lot on here, so I would say yes. At the worst, it would be a reasonably good guide. I don't tend to run much in the way of benchmarks, but going by some others results my numbers look about right.

I got a new 6990 yesterday. Been doing a lot of benching on it. At stock speeds on the AUSUM bios (bios2) I was getting about 1700 score on this test. After a lot of overclocking tweaks I managed to get the score below. Heaven isn't one of the best benchmarks for this card in my experience and it performs a lot better in all of the others. Also, to see this card shine you need to be running eyefinity size resolutions, not this bitesize one. I got it to run well at 1020/1500 until scene 25/26 and it froze once for a second dropping my min fps to 8.8 :P Decided not to try again.

HIS AMD HD 6990 @ 1010/1500 (Yes I really pushed this thing)

That will be a very useful comparison when I get my new 6990 this week. Do you overclock using the bios switch on the side?

Yeah. No point leaving it on the normal bios. I just peeled the sticker off a little bit so if I have to RMA or whatever it's still in the same place. It took me ages to hit the 2000 mark. Was getting around 1850 for a long time and as you can see I had to push it pretty damn hard to get that score.

New score: 1544 on 5970 B.E.

Beaten my previous high of 1437 using the 11.4 drivers. Not just by using that but by setting hyperthreading off, changing clocks from 4.6GHz to 4.7GHz (gradual increases til I reach 4.9GHz depending on temps). Even with H20 + new thermal paste (MX4) my temps are 60c full load (@1.385v) with room 23c. Other benchmarks have improved too bar 3dm06.

Forgot to save it but took screenshot. As you'll see, for whatever reason, Heaven ain't using my new 440GT at all despite Mafia + Metro 2033 utilising up to 45% of the GPU.
