Overclocked a little more to get:

Snapping at the 580 SLI's heels ;)

I can see the point regarding resolutions. I game at 2560x1600 but if I created a thread inviting folk to post up at that res I might get ten results at best!

So while I agree 1680x1050 is a low res for some, I am led to believe it is still the most popular gaming resultion around at present and represents a 'mid' range pc that everyone should be able to run and submit entries which will give us the best set of comparitive results across all GPU varients.

While the leaderboard adds a bit of fun competition, I didn't intend this thread to be a willy waving contest, more of a tool for comparison for those looking for a new card in view of upgrading. Obviously Heaven is not the be all and end all but it does give a good basis for how well a GPU is likely to perform when compared to others.

PLEASE NOTE

In order to make this easier for me to update please submit a NEW entry rather than updating an old one.

Ensure you give the model of your GPU when submitting your entry as I'm having to guess at a few entries. Heaven only describe a card as '5900/5800 series' !

Some damn fine efforts and droolworthy scores guy, keep em coming:)

Thanks for that w3bbo, it seems like many people are too retarded to understand a simple concept of comparing the results.

It is indeed a very good comparison of mild tessellation capability of the cards and unsurprisingly, it is not CPU dependent at all (look at Q6600 vs i5 2500k comparison earlier in the thread).

Bear in mind that Heaven is not a good benchmark for gaming performance of the cards. It may very likely be one in a few years but in real world performance will usually be significantly different to what is being concluded from these results. There's a handful of games that use tessellation and none that uses it in a way that Heaven does.

People posting results other to the OP reference should get suspended tbh. It only takes 15 sec to go through the original post and know what is expected.

Now that AMD have tessellation level control in the their drivers can some AMD results be wrong due to the tessellation levels being lowered with the AMD tessellation optimized option in the drivers which I think is on by default, the user may not realize this.

I think you said Raven that without a profile it won't make any difference. My testing also showed no difference between application and AMD optimised in heaven 2.5

Update: 5850 @ 1GHz

AMD Optimised will only work when developers start supporting it. It doesn't have any effect atm.

I rerun the test with 0.1V and 100 MHz more on core, 860 isn't that bad after all.

Had another go, tweaked the GPU but had to knock the CPU down a bit:

GPU: SLI GTX 580 @ 950/1900/2150
CPU: I7 920 @ 4.0GHz

Need some water cooling!!

And another go but with the CPU @ 4150, less score but a greater max:
