Finally got myself a copy of W7 so I can run DX11, now just need to get a shiny new monitor to run native 1080p

Going to OC my GPU a little and see what I get, at least im getting more than 30FPS which im happy with

EDIT, after a little OC on my GPU I got this score

Thats better

Yup I take a lot of these scores with a pinch of salt as there is so many workarounds to get a higher score and leave the screenshot looking normal.

Aye i guess we need a standardised settings set for control paneloptions as well, personally i've got everything on default whatever they are which is i guess what most people are using but safe to say some are likely changing all the quality settings to performance.

This would certainly explain some of the anomalous results in this thread.

I wondered why I had to use much higher clocks to get my results, cheeky git topdog :p

Just tried changing all my settings to absolute minimum/performance in CCC and trying again with my 7950 and got a huge boost, so yea....any results that stick out like a sore thumb aren't playing by the rules :p

......not that the rules actually state anything about it

I have nothing to hide, that's why I included a screenshot with the background this time, nothing was stated in the rules and it is an allowed tweak on hwbot where I frequently submit scores http://www.hwbot.org/forum/showpost.php?p=130846&postcount=65

You can leave it out of the leaderboard if you like, but how many of the others have done the same?

I think that it should be allowed so it's fair to everyone, just like tweaking the OS, disabling features, running for best performance etc, it's all part of the fun involved with benchmarking.

Read the first line of this thread:

The new version of Heaven is out so let's see how our setups compare.

If different people use different settings than that defeats the whole purpose of the thread.

I see your point but how many have submited a screenshot without the background, theres no way of telling if tess is on or off

You're quite correct which means that for the majority of scores it's impossible to verify which ones have been obtained using tweaked settings and which ones haven't.

If you're going to disallow CCC tweaks then you might as well dissalow overclocking ;)

The purpose of the thread is to compare different systems, different graphics cards, different processors, different overclocks etc.

It's about comparing different hardware with an identical benchmark not how well you can tweak the benchmark/driver settings to your advantage.

You must have a guilty conscience if you choose not to accept that ;)

^this, though unless you start the whole thing again and specifically state everyone must display every graphics setting possible to affect the score it's never going to happen.
