right then, for those like me with import version it has been noted that midway EU servers are showing up in the menu's with pings half that of USa servers.

Bad news is that import version will not connect to EU servers "core package error".

This means EU version has updated files and not the same as USA version.

Fear not though as on the Epicgames forum a Admin has stated and posted

"Hi guys. The European PS3 version is a slightly different version and won't be joinable by US versions. The patch we're working on will bring both US and European versions into sync though, and after that point will be able to play together.

And no, we don't have a release date for the PS3 patch "

Hope they sort this before it is released here, else I won;t be able to play with the Uk owners :(

Still haven't got round to completing the 1 player mode and playing this online much yet tbh. In hindsight I should have just waited for the UK version, way too many games out on ps3 atm that I have to play.

Pretty much the same here, there is just way too many games on my shelf at the moment that are part finished, also picked up WipEout Pulse on the PSP yesterday, can not believe that something so smooth and fluid with full online play is on a hand held, very impressive stuff.
 
Just got the limited edition in a Tin for the PC for only 20 quid today. Was sitting next to the normal version which was 35 quid :confused:

Anyway, the limited edition has a bonus DVD with 20+ hours of unreal Engine 3 toolkit video tutorials.

So might need to try some map PS3 making :D

Epic's Jeff Morris has revealed the list of changes to be included in the first Unreal Tournament III Playstation 3patch, due for release on March 27th:

U.S. Only

* Made compatible with Euro version (both are patched to the same level)
* Fixed reversed ping sorting in server browser
* Fixed some rare crashes (shutting down, saving with low HD space, AI, etc)
* Fixed a client crash while connecting to server while server it switching maps
* Minor rewordings of various messages
* Fixed mutator mods to not be always loaded, only load mutators when needed
* Added mod import verification for inter-mod package name conflicts
* Fixed weapon/effect sorting in DM-Gateway snow
* Fixed extraneous "Player" entries in campaign scoreboard
* Fixed some getting stuck and outside the world bugs
* No longer display "Player is on red/blue" messages in campaign
* Fixed a Torlan bot pathing bug
* Fix for too many custom characters causing texture corruption
* Keyboard jump now does Smart Jump
* Fix for tilt controlling player sometimes
* Removed Warfare Score Limit of 0 in UI
* Disabled 3d sound positioning on mission briefing sounds
* Fixed exploits with ViewNextPlayer in rare cases
* Fixed some HUD positioning bugs
* Fixed a Darkwalker AI bug

* Mods now on root of memory device, can download easier from PS3 web browser

* Fix for getting stuck in multiplayer menu if you get in before gamespy connects

"The US version has more fixes included in this patch. This is because later release date of the European version allowed us to include them on the disc."

Ah good cant wait, we will be able to get some OCUK games going between the US and Pal versions.
 
I may get this soon especially if i see it for cheap somewhere. Just wanted to know what the online community is like, is it pretty busy? I haven't really seen many people talk about this game on here..

I'm actually not a huge fan of the game and have been thinking of selling it, but I'll hang onto it for the mods if nothing else. It doesn't really offer anything over 2k3/2k4 (not that it is supposed to) and while it does what it does extremely well, I think myself and possibly others are getting bored of it all - I don't think it has such a huge community that previous versions have had.

I prefer the tactical stuff these days, too much Doom and Quake back in the day has made my reflexes tired :p
 
Ok, I just had a few online games of this fantastic addition to my collection. I didn't give the game a chance at first but I think it is awesome on team deathmatch / free for all etc.

Anyway, who is up for a game tonight?
 
i have just got this game, couldnt refuse at £20 really! ill be up for a game whenever im on so feel free to add me people :)
 
hehe ive been wanting it for ages and you can use mouse and keyboard on ps3 so its not so bad. i can't see myself keeping up with the pc upgrading scene, i mean im still on my trusty radeon 9800 pro so it had to be done :D

theres a few small problems coming from the perspective of pc player as from what i can tell most of the customisability has been stripped away (my side moue buttons dont even work!!) but its things i can get used to as i don't think i'll be (too) competitive on this one :p

get yourself on it man we can double team some fools :D
 
Last week I went down a mate's who had the game. I went on the server browser and only 12 deathmatch servers were up with 3 showing good pings. I thought it was a connection error but my friend said nope this is the norm for the game. Is UT3 really almost dead already :eek:
