*** Official WATCH_DOGS 2 ***

Remember that popular Assassins Creed franchise? The first game in that series was disappointing as well. Assassins Creed II fixed most of the issues.

Ubisoft aren't stupid. They won't repeat the same mistakes of the first game.

Interest peaked

That's exactly what I was thinking about it.

Not that I've played AC. And not that I'll play WD. Just not my sort of thing at all :p

fact is all the games in that vid are great games even if they didn't match the visuals promised

Edit
well maybe not Watch Dogs so much ;)

There's one "great" game in that video and that's farcry 3, the rest are all meh and all sold on fake and scripted E3 presentations.

The main point i was making is that watchdogs was so far from the presentation that you should not believe what ever lies they put out this time around.

Give it a rest, Siege and the division are decent games maybe not 'great' but solid enjoyable games. Hell even the latest AC is supposed to be quite a bit better than unity (which lets be honest was terrible aside from the fantastic gfx)

Ubisoft have been shoddy in the past but I think they're on the way back up. Ghost recon wildlands is another game that looks promising. I think the Ubi bashing like every other bandwagon is seen as the 'cool' thing to do because all the kids are doing it.

That's not to say WD2 won't suffer the same fate as WD1 but I'm at least willing to give it a chance by getting an informed opinion post release from reviews and gamers rather than automatically assigning it to the scrap heap because 'Omg Ubi Suckz!'.

no many people here and other places consider Siege and the division to be "great".

Oh comon, did you not see the last 2 Assassins Creeds?

Yep, the three games with Ezio were all good, AC3 wasn't great. Black Flag was really good (Rogue is more of the same)

I never played Unity because I was a bit burnt out by then, but Syndicate was decent.

More hits than misses IMO and the difference between the first game and second game are quite dramatic despite having similar gameplay .

Are you saying you're not pre-ordering or that Ubi aren't allowing pre-orders?

I'm saying no one should, because of the fiasco which was Watchdogs 1. People always fall foul and then complain days later how it's a waste of money and the game is trash. The sooner people stop pre-ordering games the better.

Just remember the video and don't pre-order is all I'm saying.

Black Flag was really good.

Black flag was a good game, it's weird because it feels the least like a AC game.

Downgrade jokes aside I'm likely gonna give this a shot. The first game was far from great but I did enjoy most of it to some extent. It just outstayed its welcome a little and the characters were dull.

This looks like a decent step in the right direction and the main character looks like he might actually have a personality. I won't be pre-ordering it as I'm a bit selective with games these days but on this evidence I think I'd be willing to give it a chance.

You even watch the video? They're basically false advertising, not everybody is prepared to look past that. also Division and R6 are terrible on PC, complete hackerfest with 0 support from Ubisoft.

Why do people act so high and mighty that they're not pre-ordering this time around, like they take pride in the fact that they've "beaten the system" and have somehow proven to Ubisoft that they're "better" than them? (btw not just this thread in particular, but just internet response in general seems to be "aha, I pre-ordered last time, but you won't get me this time!")

You coming to the realisation that pre-ordering is flawed system doesn't make you some sort of special ********* - it's not exactly hard to figure that out.

On the topic of the game itself, I'm kinda disappointed they didn't peruse the near-dystopian cyberpunk feel the first game set out to achieve, but instead copped out for the whole "edgy" anarchist who go against the system/fight the power/"I'm a minority". No Assassin's Creed this year either so this'll be their main title, but I think the AC influence is showing strong already with the parkour systems, etc. Also I wonder how they're gonna handle the story if it's supposedly entirely playable co-op. Either way, even though I wasn't a fan of the first game, I'm not gonna shut it down already 'case muh Ubisoft hate bandwagon. Yes they pull a lot of BS, but shouldn't that be obvious by now, across the industry as a whole? I think with any game it has the potential to be good, and from what I've seen this is a step in the right direction.

And btw the first Watch Dogs wasn't a flop by any means.

Actually The Division got much better after 1.2 patch and they just announced permabans for first cheating offence. Same with Rainbow Six.

So yeah they're starting to get a handle on things.

Couldn't care less how it looks, I'm just not interested in the Ubisoft gameplay that this game will probably have. Boring paper-thin main character, forced fail-states and a poorly thought out story that is basically just a series of unconnected missions with little to no explanation as to why you are doing what you are doing.

Having said that though, Ubisoft did really improve their standard gameplay for Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which improved pretty much every element of the gameplay, with hardly any forced fail-states, well implemented stealth that made sense, and choices in how you play, so hopefully they will continue in that direction.

Sadly I cannot fully quote Eric Cartman but here goes: "You know what you get for pre-ordering a game? A big rooster in your mouth."

Anyways, I will be getting this game once it's out because I enjoyed the first one for what it was. Hopefully you can create your own characters, since they show a couple, but I doubt it - it will probably be in a Unity-style. The trailer almost makes me feel too old for it though... (the characters I mean)
