And don't do what 70% of new players seem to do now and go out and buy a t8 prem or the like.

Wait till you have got up to t8 naturally so you have better game understanding - if you want a prem then stick with a tank of the tier your at

Very much agree with this. All too often there'll be someone in game with a T8 Prem with only 1k worth of games under their belt. The lowest I've ever seen was a Lowe on my team and the player had only just played 600 games! They seem to think that the bigger the tank and the fact it's a Prem the more invincible they are, even though they have no idea how to play in that type of tank effectively.

You have to realise that WoT has the single worst community ever !! Never expect anyone to offer you good advice ingame, you are just a tomato - gold noob - pocket warrior and should uninstall the game! :p

:D

All the players out there seem to be WoT experts, especially once they're dead and you're left fending off the other team, out numbered because they all went on the lemming trail.

Oh, not to mention the fact that some times it feels like you're the only player playing with a Mini Map visible, all others seem to ignore the large bunch of red heading towards base on the other side of the map, normally head straight towards you!

As said by others, try and play the game and enjoy it. Find either a nation or line you enjoy and try and get the best out of it. It will take time, but stick with it.

The two greatest things that give me pleasure in game, besides winning are seeing either the tank I've just hit go up in flames, or better still the ammo rack going :D

I don't see why that would be the case? The main reason you see it being rejected is because the unicums don't want to play each other, it's more fun seal clubbing ;)

So true I thought they would have loved the challenge but its easier to pad clueless players

I might purchase it but leave it for a while until I play it in earnest, let the fad and popularity of it pass.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I will give it another week or so to make my mind up whether to bin it or not. It's a shame really because when it goes right and your own team doesn't kill you it's fun.

Trying to get my daily mission in for the togtober comp. Must have finished in the top 5 in all but maybe 2 of the games and......

THIS is why I hate the non-skill based MM.

Played really well and ended up on 45%

mm.JPG

The worst was a capping race which we lost cos a IS7 sat JUST outside the capping circle. He had a 41% win rate and an eff of <400. Even a bot would have capped.

I am not suggesting for a moment that I should always get to play in matches with players the same skill level as me (whatever that is). But that the idiots are SHARED OUT. The MM should make the win chance as close as possible to 50%.

I don't mind if my team has 3 or 4 utter idiots as long as the enemy has similar. But when the enemy has blue players in teh top 5 tanks and we have 42% tomatoes with effs in the 600s the game is lost before it starts.

Yes I have won the occasional 15%er but only ever when maybe me and one or two other decent players are top tier and have carried well.

So MM, when you pick a T9 heavy for one side, pick a T9 heavy of a similar skill level for the other.

It's not as though you don't have the players waiting to play.

On a more positive note.

LETS GET SOME MORE PLATOONS GOING.

The clan has been really quiet recently online.

Come on guys get online and lets toon up with some of the newer players. I remember it helped me loads in the beginning.

I haven't played in months now, I'll start again if there is more action from the clan with regards to platoons etc... It hasn't been a strong point in the past!

From what I understand there is a concern from the devs side - and its fairly valid I think - that if someone goes up from one skill group to the next, they suddenly go from being good, having fun and doing well to failling very quickly and thus the circle gets worse

Skill based mm results in tank diversity being trashed.

In company battles there are already specific tanks to take.

To sustain a rank at the sharp edge you need to play in strict patterns and make all the optimum choices before even clicking battle.

Artillery by sheer inability to carry will never see the top end.

Heavy tanks with weak defences and no autoloader will never see the top end.

Slow medium tanks.

Etc.

Some good points. But I'm not suggesting for a moment that ALL the players in a game should be the same skill level. Just share out the idiots. We get a 42%er in a med then the enemy get a 42%er in a med, we get a 55%er they get one.

Nice to see nothing changes in this game, first game in the E100 after at least 6 months off to calm down from the WOT RAGE .... :)

So you're back are you Defrag? At least part-time. :)

I'm struggling to see your issue in that game, you seemed to do quite well, unless you are hinting at how one-sided the game was...

P.S. I have a fair few more tier tens since we last platooned. :p

I'd not even suggest balancing it out that much, just nearer 50% for the whole team...

I personally think skill based MM will make it very dull by making high end games repetitive in terms of tanks used, like was said before and for the people near the 50% mark who keep getting bumped up and down in "skill" levels it would be really confusing to win then lose then win then lose based on who they were matched with.

There don't need to be skill based "levels", I don't know where that concept came from? It's all about equalling the teams. It can still be made up of players of all abilities, but 20% chances to win with all five of your top tier tanks being 45%'ers and the other teams all being unicums in platoons is just a joke.

The levels and win rate percentages are what have been thrown around a lot, at least from what I have read. I understand balancing the teams too but it could make the random battle waiting period long for particularly good or particularly bad players while the matchmaker finds them a suitable balance.

Anyone else getting game crashes with the new 970/980 cards, I thought I had it fixed with a fresh install of the game but now its back. Makes the game unplayable, as it can happen at any time with no warning.

I've tried the disable the HDMI audio trick with no success, running with VSync on, windowed mode, not alt tabbing out, details up details down, card overclocked and card at stock, CPU overclocked and at stock.

I'm at the end of my tether it all worked fine with my old 670, but now nothing but crashes. The setup will run haven or 3d mark all day even haven and prime with out a problem, plays Diablo 3 for hours, again no problem.

It just seems to be world of tanks. Any ideas?
