** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

well small update my guild has now chosen its realm EU-Draenor we will be migrating from Neptulon to coincide with 4.3.

Still no indication of when the guild transfer service will come into effect so we will effectively be starting a new guild from level 0 and building up our rep etc again.

Lookingforward to actually recruiting on a horde populated server :)

I'm thinking of getting back into WoW, i.e. starting from level 1 as some friends are still playing it. I played it years ago (up until burning crusade). Is it worth buying these expansions for the first 40 levels or so or can I get away with basic WoW? Do the expansions really add much for the lower levels?

On Draenor myself, I'm the GM of the guild Chrome(1st 10 man with some server 1st kills).

I can tell you this, a lot of the horde is terribad. There is a decent amount of good players but they're already neatly tucked into lvl25 guilds, so you might find it hard to entice gems with a lvl0 guild, unless you're ranked extremely high.

Also Draenor isn't really a high progress server with any 'elite' guilds(most of the top guilds raid 3 days a week max). So if your aim is 'Hardcore', you might want to look elsewhere.

The PVP is average to, yes it's a 'PVE' realm but organising RBG's or any type of PVP event is going to take a lot of effort.

There is however a lot of pug raiding, so if that is your thing then this could be the realm for you.

Again it all depends on your aim, just thought I'd give you abit of feedback since I've been on the realm for ~4years now.

First 20 levels are free if you want to start with the starting games classes and races anyway, unless you want one of the newer races, go with the freebie.

Thx for the info, our guild was never really topping any charts we started off as a social group altho we do take our raiding seriously, raiding 3 official nights a week @ 3hr each along with pvp nights on fridays and alt runs on monday.

After cataclysm came the bottom fell out of the guild and the realm, recruitment was slack, even struggled to firld 10mans in the end, so the decision came that we HAD to move, stayin on nep is just a way to ensure the guild dies.

So the guild will move and were currently only 6/7 in firelands after being a top 5 rated guild on all other tiers..

Sure bein a level 0 guild will make our job a lot harder but hopefully we can attract some new blood

Either way it cant be worse than our current realm, other options we have are Outland (hugely overpopulated and login queues).

I think it will be an issue that pvp might be less on draenor, were coming from a pvp realm with lots of world pvp which was more because ally outnumbered horde by like 10:1 so horde have to get used to defending themselves lol.

If you look at the two realms on wowprogress you will see why draenor looks nice to us

http://www.wowprogress.com/pve/eu/neptulon Neptulon Rankings

http://www.wowprogress.com/pve/eu/draenor Draenor Rankings

So we will be coming from a heavily ally biased realm to a horde realm :)

Man had a great day. Got Je'Tze's Sparkling Tiara during a normal dungeon. No idea what it's worth so stuck it on AH for 6k, sold in 8 minutes. Whoops.

Also yesterday discovered the perfect farming. Do 1.5 hours a day for 20 stacks, each stack sells for between 380g and 500g depending on the day (weds is raid night) with a bunch of other things collected as a by product at the same time. Only listed 8 stacks at a time, plus a further 8 stacks of 5 at 25% price, so i dont flood the market and invite people to compete!

Never had more than 5000g before so this should be fun!

So this new armour tansmogrifymcnier (whatever it's called). Does that only apply to raid tier sets or can it be anything?

Rocking up in the SM dungeon set could be pretty cool. Or the orginal rogue DM set.

I'm thinking of re-playing on a fresh server from level 1. Are there any guilds around here looking to recruit for social and light raiding?

Kapow on Tarren Mill Horde side, we are social / levelling with the odd raid thrown in (were pretty hardcode pre 4.2 but GM quit and its now more laidback) if youre interested. Ill be on either Seyline/Shortstacked/Lockstarr probably if you wanna hit me up!

Quite pleased with the tank/DK watercooler!

I've just cancelled my US account and reactivated my EU (Silvermoon) one and have picked up my old DK and am quite enjoying it!

Things are looking up folks!

This week I got round to finding an actually decent guild. I realm transferred off my old realm onto Eonar as I was talking to an old friend of mine on there, and fortunately his guild was recruiting tanks and hadn't really done much progression. I'm still a trial member, but tonight we downed Shannox and Bethtilac pretty easily i have to say, especially as there were a few new people. Shannox was downed first try (although i died from his very last melee swing before he died :o), and bethtilac took us eight or so attempts as we had never done it before and we were having some trouble with getting everyone on the web at the same time. Unfortunately no loot for me, but it was fun none the less.

Now to read up on Baleroc and Lord Rhyolith for Sunday. :D

I would have done that but I've ended up leveling 6 85s! :(

I have 5 85s, not to mention two more characters levelled up to 73 and 81 during Cata. >.< I gave up a few months back too, trying it out again now though to see if I can handle it more casually.

Does anyone play horde side on Shattered Hand EU? I left my old guild because of the constant petty squabbling, so if anyone's recruiting there, I'd be interested in a spot. Mainly playing Kaeh at the moment (77 atm priest) because I'm enjoying disc.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I got an email last night supposedly from Blizzard. Just want to let everyone know that this is probably doing the rounds and that they should avoid it.
