I'm such a WoW noob, all this build up anticipation is so new for me with it being my first expansion

Up, last Christmas haha. Would've probably played before but my laptop was awful. I enjoyed it tbh, even though it was still so late in to the expansion (4.3)... WoTLK and ICC looked very fun though

I'm looking at websites like Wow Insider and icy veins trying to get a handle on things again. Certainly one of the things I loved about Wow was the sheer amount of information out there. On the other hand it must seem massively daunting to a completely new player.
Still offshore at present so I've got some time to decide on server, class and so on. Macro's popped into my head earlier for some reason, I take it these are still used? Once i've settled on a race/class I'll need to find a good guide to get me started again

I have a strange problem since 5.0.4 went live.
Stats on weapons/ armour etc, are wrong and not displayed correctly, ie when the tool tip compares your current stats to weapons armour from a killed NPC or the AH, the stats are like +4545454 for example, and sometimes agility or stamina, strength etc are competly missing from the info box with just a + displayed?
This is very annoying
Things i have done to try and eliminate the issue:
Deleted WFT and Data cache
Re-installed the game
Deleted curse add ons and reinstalled
Tried the game without any add ons
Not much else i can do really, i dont see any threads on forums regarding this issue, so im assuming it isn't far spread.
Be interested to know if anyone here has had this problem and if its related to 5.0.4?
EDIT: After speaking in General chat seems there a few with this problem, though not everyone, very odd.

It's probably something to do with the patch, I remember it being like this on the beta, incorrect stat numbers, place holders etc. Even on some peoples armories, enchants are displaying as like +Sk1 Intellect for example.

i have this same problem mate.
Should be ironed out in a patch shortly I'd imagine. Seems fairly common.
Yea, it's kinda huge, but no patches after if I recall correctly. Enjoy anyway

Ive had a email today from Blizzard confirming they are aware of the bug and a fix is coming soon.
