the character copy doesn't seem to work for me, the page just refreshes itself when I try to "copy premade character" and nothing happens. :(
 
Voltage just check your bnet and see if you have a new game added with a red dragon (i.e catclysm) icon, it's that simple - if not, you are not in.
 
well re-installing was a bad idea as I have lost my wotlk cd :p

luckily I made a backup.

I have just run the wow repair thing and tried the alpha install again and it seems to be working completely fine now :D

edit: aww yea download speeds of 1.1 mb/s :)
 
Ok, i don't want to sound thick but I can't seem to install.

I downloaded the PTR client and ran it. Picked my WoW folder and it did something. It ran the next file and I get the square installer box with just play/support and finish buttons :(

I too had the same issue with copying characters over this morning. Hopefully be sorted by tonight when I'm home.

P.S - Can you copy over premade 80s? I only ask because I want to play a paladin or druid and can't decide.

I've no idea why, but I think Druids and Shaman will be the "OP" class of this expansion.
 
just worried that loads of other people have got an email but me....its not looking good :(

I was getting an error message when trying to install the alpha. A problem with one of my wotlk files.

I was going to reinstall but I didnt have the CD :p So I just ran the repair and that sorted it :D

At least its done. Just updating patches now then im going in !!!

Also I had no problems at all coping chars across, I also nabbed a few pre-made chars too
