ive had the same probs as you mate, EJ has nothing current for prot warriors.
Heres a few sources i found which have helped my warrior tanking

I found it much easier to learn from videos of other tanks doing instances, this is one of the best ive found in terms of explaining the methods for Forge Of Souls. As the instance has a mix of caster and non caster packs its a good way to practice grouping.

You will always find its of much more importance to have a chat with a good warrior tank you know, i got much more tips from our guild tank than from any guide.
The most frightening thing i had to deal with on my tank was the number of effin keybinds lol.
Im used to bein a hunter and now i have more keybinds than an rts gamer.

Well I'm just wondering if the basics are the same or not. What stats to go for now, and what the caps are. I can probably figure out a rotation quickly enough, and as for actual drops that will change with leveling up obviously.

Prot is more or less the same to play as it was in Wrath. You've just lost queued Heroic Strikes and Cleaves. They're now abilities you use less often.
You take more damage than before 4.0 and soloing old content is harder. There is no longer a defense cap or stat. Expertise and hit caps are the same.

Primary stats, Strength and Stamina.
Secondary stats, Hit to cap, Expertise to cap, Dodge & Parry to about 17% then reforge for Mastery (increased block and critical block chance).
Everything else is pretty much the same: Single target threat rotation is identical and AoE tanking still relies heavily on cleave, thunderclap and revenge spam.
Worth noting that AoE tanking will mostly disappear in cataclysm though, and not a moment too soon!
It sucks that they've removed blacksmith specialisations now. I enjoyed making the rare stuff, and the quests to get it would be much easier to complete than they used to be.
This is a screen grab of my gatherer DB after ONE rotation of Thousand Needles. The node I'm pointing at is the one I started from, and I went anticlockwise around the edges with a few forays around the stacks in the centre. Before this, I had maybe 4 or 5 nodes marked with gatherer from Galvene in the OcUK guild, and this run took me about 45 mins with the diving helm you get with the river boat.

Landed me about 180 - 200 mithril with this one run, and I didn't see anyone else collecting - either I was on my own, or the respawn rate is much higher than it used to be.

You dont need the boat, found it much quicker just to run everywhere the nodes are so close together just seems waste swimming up then back down again
Great stuff, how do you delete buttons? I have my button bars set at the bottom of the screen but wish to move some or delete them but the usual drag doesn't work so I guess it's locked? I can't see an option to unlock in the options though.
Any ideas?
