The worgens 'mount' is nothing like plainsrunning. This ones a cast, plainsrunning was auto after 10 seconds and crazy to balance.

Its looking more and more like ill have to change my hunter spec in cata as more Marksman nerfs have happened and some pet attack nerfs.

I wouldn't really call it a nerf. A Nerf is when something is live. They are class balancing atm. And sorting out all the new talents + abilities.

I just got into the cata beta, downloaded the client but cannot transfer any of my characters over as the queues are full.. Any Idea when I could do a transfer or is it just a matter of checking back regularly?

Nothing confirmed from Blizzard, but MMO champion have reported this morning that the original suspected release date of Nov 2nd has been pushed back until early December (7th or 14th)

i got in on Friday and had the same problem as you. I have seen then queues open around 10am though, Saturday and Sunday. Also even though the delays says ~7 days, one of the chars I chose to transfer over on Saturday has already been done.

EU queues have been broken for about 2 weeks now. US ones are working okay tho.

Think they are just pulling dates out of a hat now. Even when they first claimed it was going to be November 2nd that seemed highly optimistic

also just dowanloaded a 4.5Gb update on retail, do I need to apply this
or is it auto? I've not seen it say its patching just downloading

That's jsut the background downloader. That patch will be applied when Blizzard push 4.0 to the live servers in (hopefully) a few weeks time.

I just managed to transfer 2 of my chars across on Sunday night, a right ball ache to be honest. They are still pending but I'm not that bothered, just want to have a look about and work out the basics of the expansion..

2nd Nov follows other expansions release dates, and probably would have been the date if things had been right.

Question about the pre-load; why are they doing this when you can just get it from a shop with all the data on a DVD?

Seems rather pointless when surely most people will just buy a copy from a store (I could understand it if the majority were buying off Battle.net).

Am I just being silly?

Because patch 4.0.1 will be available shortly (few weeks I guess) which will let you see the new zones pretty much as they are, and include the cataclysm itself as well as all the new talent trees and mechanics. All this = hefty downloads!

If it's like the previous 2 expansions the DVD will be out of date and will need patching up anyway, so doing the pre-load or not it's likely you'll have to download the patch anyway.
