** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

Going to reroll tonight as Horde. Right now it's a choice between Blades Edge and Nordrassil as their populations are pretty even according to Warcraft Census.

Anyone got any other good server ideas? ;o
 
Really trying to make the newness of Black Ops last because as soon as I'm bored I'll be back on WoW, but for now I'm holding out! I think I'll hold off on getting cata for a few days, from previous experience first days of releases are absolutely chaos.

It's probably 4.0.3 if you haven't played WoW since Wednesday, the shattering patch itself is only like 8MB since 4.0.1 and 4.0.3 already contains most of the data for the shattering/Cataclysm.

I'd suggest checking the boards for those realms on the official forums, they tend to give a better idea of balance and activity that that census site.

Yeah, I did that and Nordrassil seemed a lot more active? I just don't want to be stuck on a 90% vs 10% server. :o

I used to be on Nordrassil when I played, was pretty active population wise at the time but that was well over a year ago. If you decide to roll there you might find my old guild, used to be called Precedent but when WOTLK came out disbanded and became Mortallis.
 
How reliable are Amazon with pre-orders? As I have had mine on pre-order with them for a couple of months for £17.91, which is a lot cheaper than you can get it for now as it's gone up on Amazon to £25 and it's the same at most other places.

I'm just thinking about actually being able to play as soon as Cata goes live at 00:01 on the 7th, will Amazon get it to me on time or should I go for the digital download?
 
do you pre load it from blizzard then? or do they let you download it on the 7th?

ive bought it from amazon, it says to get it by the 7th select first class delivery, doing that still puts it few quid cheaper than blizzard.

4.01 was the last big patch (I think)

I'm trying to install this one and ended up having to do it in safe mode as it wouldn't work. So it fully installs on safe mode but I exit safe mode and go back onto normal mode and the patch hasn't taken hold. Any ideas? Rather frustrating to put it mildly.

edit: seem to have eventually sorted it.

edit edit: Anyone play horde on Doomhammer? Getting rid of my characters and everything in the account as I am starting afresh in Cata to hopefully start enjoying the game. Got 1300g on my main if anyone wants to come claim it? Not a level one alt you have just rolled to get it though :p If someone takes me up on the offer sometime tonight I will pass it across to you. By tommorow i'm just going to give it to a random and delete.

Man if people want the ToGC 10 man Mount do it now, it's never been so easy. Just cleared it with whoever was online at the time and didn't get a single death, by no means was a hardcore group eaither.
