yeah I can be a little quiet at times. Striking a balance between vocals and game sounds is tough at the best of times, but recording as you play, you just can't listen to your levels until after the fact. Add to that I have a £4.99 mic and a noisy PC so it's not ideal by any standards.

Have my eye on a new set of kit as I mentioned so I think a nice Blue Yeti mic and a newer, quieter PC will mean less editing needed on the vocals and give me more options.

It's still a learning process though, two months ago I hadn't got a clue about video editing, sound compression and normalisation or any of this stuff.

What I tend to do is up the gain on my voice and lower the game audio by a simillar amount once it's in my video editing software *1 so that I can hear both together.

*1 Premiere elements 4 atm, waiting for it to go 64 bit *2 *3 before I upgrade.

*2 Tried the demo of Power Director 9 which is 64 bit but found the interface too fluffy compared to the Adobe offering.

*3 Yes, I do know that Premiere Pro CS 5 is 64 bit, but that's a bit beyond what I need for this.

I drop the game audio by 15 decibels and raise the vocals by 6 (the maximum premiere pro allows) already. The vocals go through compression, noise reduction (to remove fan noise) and finally normalisation, so there's not a lot I can do in terms of software.

I think it's more a microphone issue than anything else, the sound just drops off massively if I sit back in my chair too much. It's fine if I do post production stuff because I can lean on the desk and just ramble, but trying to do that while playing is just impossible.

Standalone rather than headset mic?

Anyway, to stop this being totally off-topic, here's Episode 12 of my Venetica play through.

A boss fight! Also, Scarlett angsts a bit.

LOLZ

made this in a pub for teh funz. Too dark and bad editing oh well.

this was in a game, its all about the last frag to be honest which kept me alive (see below) bad editing as only took me around 10 mins as its was late :P

and one I did to test the new HS1A to make sure they were "up to par for gaming ;)"

liquid you just shown a few typical shots on mw2 :confused:intro was not bad but thats about it.

thing is with cod videos they have to be very special cause every tom dick and harry does them . unless you can go very deep on em like mazzerini and the likes people wont watch em . also it needs to be different unless its a funny rage up comedy thing.

Wow, when yopu say low quality you really aren't messing about. That is some low quality footage right there! Hopefully your new PC arrives soon :)
