We should be hearing about how the teams will be punsihed soon, most of the Scudetto top brass will be just about sober now.

I think winning the World Cup will lessen the blow to the teams, Does FIFA and Blatter have a say in the matter?

Personally I think it's unlikely that all 4 will be relegated. From what I've seen in the media, Juventus could well be put in Serie B, with maybe some of the others getting penalties of some sort.

I think all those fans licking their lips at the prospect of Premiership clubs picking at the carcasses of fallen italian giants will be sorely disappointed.

Aye, 11 playes play for the clubs in the Scandal, it would ruin the Italain national team, the players will lose form, there moral will be down, I think it should be the players or club bosses who did take bribes or what ever they did to be punished, its unfair to the players who worked so hard to win the World Cup.

I just made this thread to de clutter the forum as the news should be heard soon.

Juve - Serie B

Milan - 2 points + £3.00 fine
Lazio - 2 points + £3.00 fine
Fiorentina - 2 points +£3.00 fine

Something along them lines...

I don't think it will ruin the national team and I don't think it will make good players lose form either. Look at Batistuta and Effenberg for Fiorentina when they went down to Seria B.

Aye, just realised you were not on about the recent dodgy jump from C2 to B :o

Dodgy? I thought Serie C was split into C1 and C2 a bit like the old North and South division 3 so both leagues are afforded the same tier but they only include teams that are geographically close to save on transport and hotel costs to keep the small teams financially viable. (I may of course be horibly wrong). Please confirm or deny I'd like to know for sure either way

Nah, Serie C1 is above C2 in the standings. What you're probably thinking of is the seperate regional divisions within those two tiers, as there's a Serie C1/A and a Serie C1/B, and three for C2.

So it goes: Serie A > B > C1/A & C1/B > C2/A & C2/B & C2/C, like a pyramid.

Apparently there is no timescale for the announcement and it may well not be until the weekend. Guess the parties concerned must have different banks if it's taking so long for the payments to clear...

There have been a number of complaints in Italy about the speed on which they seemed to have reached a verdict. They haven't even had time to listen to a single witness. Either way, I think Juventus are pretty much certain to go down - their lawyer even claimed that Juventus would 'accept' a drop to Serie B as punishment.

It was on SSN around 6.00 that they may not have a verdict till weekend. Amazing tha Berusconi is getting his oar in early as well "The ones who made Football great should be punised the least" Basically asking for clemency for AC Milan and Juve.

Reports that Juve only expect Del Piero to stop out of the first team. Canavaro, Zambrotta and Emerson going to Madrid in some kind of buy back deal should they get promoted quickly
