*Offiical Scudetto Scandal Thread*

I don't see any relegations being overturned. But there could be less points deducted when the teams appeal. All of them will, otherwise it'll look like they are accepting that they are guilty.

If inter win it i can see people sayng they only won it cause Milan had docked points and Juventus weren't in the league.
Still i'm guessing Inter are laughing right now.
17 years it doesn't seem that long ago. Am i right in thinking that the trio of germans were there when they last won it?

Yeh brehme matthaus and klinsmann. They might have this seasons scudetto as well.

What I find wrong and disgusting is that the club officials involved in the scandal have been banned for 1-5 years only. Outrageous, people like that should be banned from football for life

With Juve having been stripped of their last two titles, who will get them instead of them? Or are they going to be unawarded?

What about all the millions Juve have been given as well for winning those titles, what happens to all that money??

Hilarious. So does this mean Mantova, Modena & Cesena will be promoted to Serie A. I hope all the relegated clubs have to sell their players or Bologna will never get back into Serie A haha.

ACTUALLY..It's Fiorentina's fault Bologna got relgated. We finished with the same points and they stayed up. Which means the matches they won were fixed. WOOO. We might get given our rightful place back in Serie A

I think all the relegated sides from this/last season will stay up

German media are quoting "Gazzeta dello Sport" that the following punishment will be handed out:

Juventus

Relegated to Serie B, docked 20 points. Nothing said about whether Juve can keep their league titles.

Milan

Stays in Serie A. Docked 10 points. Withdrawn from Champions League.

Fiorentina

Relegated to Serie B, docked up to 10 points.

Lazio

Relegated to Serie B, docked up to 10 points.

Italy's entry for the Champions League would therefore be Inter Milan, AS Roma, Chievo and Palermo.

Apparently, appeals will only run until the 25th, as afterwards the IFA can not perform any changes to the teams that enter international competitions. I wonder how accurate this information is. Bring on 6pm! :)

Not too far off the money.

Fiorentina start on -12pts btw, don't think anyone's mentioned that yet.

Remind me again which club Berlusconi owns please.
I forget.
Remind me again who isnt at the top of the Italian political ladder again? Remind me who Moretti's friend is at the top of the ladder atm? :o

Its funny, because people will be expecting the likes of Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Buffon, Toni, ect; to be moving out of Italy. Unlikely.
The only Italians likely to goto teams outside of SeriaA are the ones who have no chance of getting into the national team anyway.

In a funny sort of way, this works out well for Milan. The stars of our current squad said they'd only stay if we stayed in SeriaA, so baring any lieing on their parts, our squad stays how it is. And with the other 3 relegated, we can effectivly rejuvinate our entire squad for a pittance.
The other 3 teams have GOT to sell, and its likely that a lot of the normally expensive players will come down in price a lot, due to other teams taking the micky on transfer costs.
Buffon was interested in going Milan before it all broke out, that looks like a possible move. As does Oddo. So theres our GK & RB troubles sorted. If we can get Cannavaro, he'll be ideal to replace Stam. Zambrotta would be nice as well. Toni would be an ideal replacement for Sheva as well.
It'll be interesting to see what moves Milan makes in the transfer market now...

##EDIT##
One thing that i forgot though, thinking about it, if Juve dont get promoted to SeriaA within 2 seasons (realistically 1 season though), they'll go bust, unless their high profile owner bails them out.

Oh, and it'll be interesting to see what DelBoy does. He said he'd never leave even if they got relegated...

Does not being in the Champions League make a difference though?

Boom also said that the maximum penalty to Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio would be a small fine and a few points deducted; didnt mention getting kicked out of the CL (on top of the obvious mistake, Fiorentina and Lazio going down) :p
But in all seriousness, Boom, are you really happy with the punishment? No Europe and 15 point deduction; may even be difficult to get in the CL for next year (proberly will though) and do you really think your "star" players will hang around with no CL?

EDIT\ and what do you think of Toni for Liverpool; there been a few reports about Rafa waiting for the italian thing to get sorted before he makes any more signings and from watching the WC Toni seems a typical old fashion English centre forward and the type of player Rafa likes. Saying that i expect the 1 player he would go after would be Ibrahimovic (although after seeing his performance in the WC im not to keen on him).

Why would it?
They are still playing in one of the top 3 leagues in the world. They will still be getting watched by the world, and will still be playing against some of the worlds best.

The only one who's mentioned going upto now is Kaka & Gatusso. The latter has already said he'll stay regardless of what league were in, and by not getting relegated, we meet Kakas 'requirement' of being in SeriaA.

Becides a top four finish should be possible for us. Short of Inter, Roma and two other teams having absolutely amazing seasons, i dont see why we cant make the top four myself.
Do you?

I think the punishment is unjust myself.
If the only evidence is Leonardo complaining about a linesmen, then i dont see how we can get this punishment?
I expect Milan to appeal to be honest. At the very least, i'd imagine a smaller points deduction.

Toni wont move outside of Italy. He's going Inter for a start...
None of the national teams squad, or potential squad players will play outside of Italy, as its pretty much fact that they'd lose their place in the national team. Thats not open for debate.
Zambrotta, Cannavaro, LucaToni, ect;, short of retiring from international football, will stay in SeriaA.

Aparentely Milan could technically partisipate in the UEFA Cup?

PER IL MILAN POSSIBILITA' DI COPPA UEFA
14/07/2006

That roughly translates to:
Empoli doesn't have a UEFA license, and the period for asking one has ended. So Milan, who's next to Empoli after the points penalsation, may be able to play in the next UEFA Cup.

Not quite sure how that one works out tbh.
Saw it on MF, they didnt list a source though, so i'd take it with a grain of salt.
