just tried setting up RAID5 on my Abit IP35 Pro with 4 disks.

I already have Vista installed on a Raptor drive, in SATA port 1.

DVD drive is port 2, and the four disks in the array are ports 3 to 6.

Now windows won't even boot in safe mode! Also, in the bios, sata channels 1 to 4 are now greyed out, with no mention at all of 5 & 6.

What do I do?!

EDIT - I just turned the controller back to IDE mode, and now Vista boots again.

Do I have to reinstall Vista to enable a 2nd RAID5 drive???

I'm not 100% sure but conventional wisdom suggests that you will get an empty partition table when creating a new array. But if I were right then it wouldn't have booted again since the process or creating the array would have nuked all the data.
