Is that a floppy from a Compaq Proliant server?

i cant remeber what it was tbh, i remember it was a slave machine tho, and not the server. however it was possible that the case hadnt been upen for 10 or so years lol :/

Don't ever breath the dust when you clean/airblow -some bacterial nightmares and carcigens can lurk in household dust. I always hold my breath and then scarper for 10 minutes to let escaped dust settle.

i work in a lot of vets and although the places are generally very clean, like most places no-one cleans around the computer. there is always loads of fur and fluff etc :/ dread to think what's been growing in the nice warm PC for x number of years

Oh right thats just because I got hold of one of these servers from a school that was chucking it out. It must have been on 24/7 for about 5 years or something. Anyway it took me roughly 2 days to fully clean the thing and the floppy drive looked JUST like that :p

i was recently out on a customers site (car dealers/garage), installing a phone system. shooda seen the mess of their server, thick black dust, must have been the soot from the exhausts.

the wall behind the exhaust fan on the computer was also a sight, pure black circle on a cream wall lol

its amazing how many companies really dont pay attention to their enviroments and expect things to rum smoothly.

Yeah I noticed the samething with my akasa eclipse 62, the front filter tends to rack up the dust pretty well.

Could proberly have enuff DNA in there to create a duplicate of yourself ;)

once a week is a little to often for my p180 which is on pretty muich most the time i would recon i clean the filters every 3 months

mm this really reminds me to open up my case and start cleaning it too, mine has been vibrating a lot recently, cant even feel the air flow down the front or back :O

Hey is there anything that I could use/buy something to clean my dusty fans, like some sort of alcohol/chemical to clean my dusty fans. I am not tooo keen on using water to clean it, as dust will still be stucked on it!

Some household cleaning like Pledge are designed to clean a surface and attract less dust. You could try that.

For optimum results, spray Pledge over Motherboard, CPU, Graphics Card, Hard Drives, and fans. Say goodbye to dust (and your PC) forever! :)

do what i do, place one of those dust attracting house hold cleaning things infront of the case and acctualy inside the case at the bottom, no dust will touch your computer, and every now and then, just shake them off.

works wonders, ags

LoL, I didn't mean it like that, I meant just spray a bit on a cloth and rub it on the fan. Not allover the components, I know better then that :p

LoL, I was going to ignore that, since I am not that dumb to do that.

If I do that, might as well throw away my degree in IT. XD

I was just wondering if there are actually any other way other than that...
