Oh no! Forced to game on my pc again...

Fact how?
Fact is that the PC version won less awards, that it was less well recieved and that it required a PC specification well above what should have been needed to play it.

You appear to have confused the word 'Fact' with 'Fiction'.

Well, I dunno. I mean no doubt this could end up another mouse and keyboard vs Control pad stand off.

But the PC version, Has superior graphics due to updates and possible Screen resolutions, It has a superior online mode, and it has a good control interface that has been put together quite nicely.

Maybe for the time the Xbox version was released, it was superior. But the PC version I would agree is better now.

I don't get the Halo series at all, I bought a 360 and got bored of Halo 3 within half an hour. I recently managed to force myself to complete it but the last few hours are just running down generic corridors killing identical enemies over and over again.

Get some decent PC shooters and forget Halo.

Halo shines in multiplayer, I wasn't a fan of the single player.

Please, please, please play it on heroic and not normal. Normal is so easy it's mind numbingly dull, I never died playing through on heroic but it was a lot more fun than normal.

Spot on, at the time hardly no one could play it because it needed a powerful machine and didn't win any awards not because it was rubbish but because it's utterly avarage for a PC game.

But we're talking the present here. therefore, right now. Halo 1 PC > Halo 1 XBOX
Fact.

Woohoo! Took a chance and popped into blockbuster and turns out they had a pre-owned copy of 1.

So, on the plus side, I got it :D

On the down side, so far its a pretty average game :(

Its fun enough so far, but the covenant just aren't very intimidating.

Still struggling to get used to using the pad for fps games. Can never seem to hold the controller in a perfectly comfortable manner, and haven't quite got the art of fine control down yet.

Oh well, got the bean bag right in front of tele, and will have square eyes by the end of *** weekend :D

Oh, so thats what everyone meant about copy and paste level design.

How long do I have to go after taking over/destroying control? Its really sarting to feel quite tedious now.

I am determined to finish it, but taking a break as already been playing around 3 hours now... getting a headache.

You seemed to got further than me!?! i decided to give the PC version a go last night and after 3 hours i'm just going to rescue the 3rd pod of surviors! Will have another bash tonight.

Oh and the GFX are lush with everything turned on and at 1920x1200 resolution! smooth as slik as well on my 1950pro (3.4 P4)

I would do if any were about.

Halo 3 on Legendary (preferaby with a few skulls added) is pretty much as good as single player combat has got in fps. It's up there with the original and Golden Eye imo. I love my pc for online shooters - but single player wise there hasn't been anything released in years that isn't a simple point and click and watch the enemies fall over. zzzzzz

Weird because I find it terrible, its just another corridor shooter for the majority of the game, I found STALKER to be amazing though and a lot of people hate it.

STALKER, Bioshock, Crysis, COD4 and HL2 I found were better than Halo 3.

Online wise there's so many better games on PC.

I like the options it throws up. Last night I played the level (forget the name) where you first see the scarab. There's a preceeding section in which you have to take out an anti-air vehicle that's being protected by a tank, while underneath you at ground level there's Banshees everywhere. There's also a variety of enemy types on foot coming at you from a bunker/building in the middle. Any one of these things can kill you in a couple of seconds and you could play this same scenario over and over and each time it'd be different. This is what attracts me most to the game - you're confronted with a ridiculous number of variables and each enemy/vehicle type requires a different strategy to take down quickly, which is what Halo at a decent difficult setting has always been about. The games you mention - which I have enjoyed to varying degrees - never required this level quick thinking and situational awareness and often bored me.

I agree about some of the later levels, though - every Halo game has had a couple of (flood heavy) sections that let the rest down. It's a shame, but the majority of others more than make up for this imo. I've found more variety and challenge in single Halo 3 levels than entire games.

According to people on here, Halo sucks - but Id ask the other millions of fans across the world before consulting people on here tbh mate.

And to the people saying the PC graphics are far superior to the xbox version of Halo 1? Utter BS - graphics are visibly better on the Xbox version.

If you actually play single player and want to get Halo 2, get it for PC as the xbox version still has some glitches. I really wouldn't listen to anyone on here as it seems to be cool to say Halo is crap when for a fact - its obvious that they ignored the story and played it for 5 minutes. I personally prefer the storyline to Halo 2 compared to 1 and it makes more sense :)

But I somehow doubt you will end up holding it very highly as the series is a tad dated now - and the multiplayer (especially on Halo 2) has totally changed for the worse

Like I said earlier, single player halo offers nothing new but for multiplayer, halo 3 on the 360 is as good as online gaming on a console currently gets.

Roachy... I just realised why you never accept my invite, I keep trying to add you as "RoachycaL" >_<
