Oh yeah, that poster? It'd be better if he ...

I use to but its impossible now, every single poster is a Man U fan :D

Give it a few years until they're knocked off their perch. The cup-followers will then go elsewhere.

Every time I see a Don post, I think "wind your neck in", even if the post is non-critical or completely justified. Just my aversion to authority, I guess :)

Speaking of dmpoole, I always chuckle when he makes a thread as it seems impossible for him to talk about a topic without mentioning his age :D

And all done on purpose to wind certain people up (never taken you as one of them though).
I'm 53 you know and in a minute I'm going to GuitarGuitar in Birmingham to buy a .............. guitar.

AND, in a thread actually titled 'How old are you' I have purposely not told my age.

I'm mildly surprised by the number of people who haven't quite got the aim of this thread as envisaged or maybe it's just me that's not getting it right which might be a shade embarrassing. :o

As I'm reading it you pick a poster where you think they'd be much improved if they just stopped doing "something". e.g. drunkenmaster: I think he's got a fair number of decent points to make but if he could just occasionally learn to reign back his verbosity then he'd find people much more likely to read, understand and even agree with him.

However we appear to have a second category of interpretation here - what people do generally that annoys me... If we're going with that as a focus then people not reading threads and understanding them before posting bugs me. I don't care about people not knowing things, there's thousands of subjects where I'm ignorant either wilfully or otherwise but when the opportunity is presented to learn I can't help but think you should either take it up or not involve yourself in the discussion any further.

And there's even a third interpretation that appeared - what people might think I need to change... If that's the one we're going for then I'd say for myself I need to actually concentrate on sentence structure and not just use commas quite so indiscriminately.

Talk sense?

I don't know, He could try and educate himself about the history of football and Barcelona, the modern game.

You can't really suggest an improvement for someone who talks rubbish?

Like, DM talks sense but it's lost in waffle, he could just make his posts short and to the point and he'd be more respected in the Football Stadium for it.

Umh... I guess he could accept that his parents who apparently run an Indian restaurant in Glasgow (I still want to know which one it is, as I've probably eaten there) aren't the only people in the World who know how to make a 'proper' curry.

I don't follow football so I'll have a go at the OP's thread :p

I don't really remember enough about posters to offer constructive criticism, but dmpoole, you do stand out enough for me to offer this:

You seem an intelligent chap with good points to make a lot of the time, and I think you draw a lot of flak because you often reference your background as an absolute authority on the subject at hand. If what you've said makes enough sense (which it often does) then don't worry about defending it (or at least so staunchly).
