oil again

€25 worth of Total's finest.
<3 dealers.

One major chain uses Total and the other Elf. No one seems to use Castrol here :p
 
Low oil light flashed up again.
€50 in 6 weeks. Never topped it up before in the 2 years I've had it.

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come :(
 
Perhaps. It's just that I've never topped it up before in the last 20,000 miles and now it needs two in the space of 2 weeks.

Mind you, having said that I'm just looking at the service booklet.
Oil was changed at 47500 when I got it in Oct '10 and then again at 55500 in Nov '11.
It's now on 64k with 3 green lights remaining so perhaps that's why :o

BMW dealer = €25/litre.

I (naively) wasn't expecting to top it up if I'm honest otherwise I would've bought some online somewhere for a much better price.
I did with my Leon. Not sure why I'm being a massive spack at the moment. Work is so busy that I just don't have time to think straight any more :(
 
How old is the oil in there? Once you get fuel dilution levels going up it can lead to increase oil consumption due to the thinning effect of fuel.
