Ok so I have designed something - now for the big time

I've attended the entire duration of the London Toy Fair in a professional capacity (wooden toy manufacturer) for the last 4 years running.

If I'm still in the same job by next January (have some big plans of my own that might change that) I'm going to come and see these inventions in person.

I'm definitely intrigued as to what you could have come up with - the toy industry is actually somewhat dull in terms of innovation in recent years - most new concepts involve electronics, licensing or simple rehashes of yesteryear's toys.

If you've managed to invent a new concept that involves none of the above then you have my greatest respect.

So maybe I'll see you there, our stand is always at the front of the main entrance and impossible to miss.

.

Hey hey, Do you work for John Crane per chance?

As for the toy industry, yes it is dull and full of churn and copying! I hope to try to inject some new awesomeness into it.

One of my ideas does not contain any "electronics" but allows you do do some very cool stuff!

Not John Crane, though they are rivals of ours - we're not as well known but higher end and more prominently placed than they are at that show and at a bigger stand too.

No need to for others to know who I work for so I wont say, but I will keep tabs on this topic closer to the time and drop you a line then, it definitely will be good to check your inventions out.

Ok, cool.

Will be interesting for sure nearer the time :-)

Remember reading this thread a while back when it was all extremely hush hush and whilst it still is at least we have dates of when we will finally learn what these great creations are :) Wish you all the best Pinter :D

Nope but again similar, I know the company he is designing for.

Ahh, I see you are using wood as well. What do you think of his idea of using wooden gears with superglue poured over the teeth to make them tougher? I remember seeing quite a few comments on his vid saying that suprglue would absorb water from the air and start to bind.

Really interesting stuff. I'll check out more of your videos tomorrow when I have more time.

BTW, I want a Foam Fireing GunBot :D

Just seen an advert for a toy which im guessing could be this? Maybe not.

Basically its something called Laser Racers or similar, toy cars that are controlled by handsets that send out a laser light, so the car follows the laser dot on the floor etc and does stunts and tricks.... think Hot Wheels but without having to have the force of triggers to push the cars around, instead the cars are activated by the laser light (well thats what the advert implied).

Just a guess based on the fact that the OP uses laser cutters iirc.
