No, worst game ever.
Play Big Rigs I guarantee you will have a more pleasurable gaming experience than half life 2.

I repeat, half life 2 is a bag of ****, reviewers were bribed and valve games aren't worth playing over woodcutter simulator.

This. Opposing Force was pretty awesome. Blue shift isn't great but it's short. Half Life 2 is pretty disappointing, worth checking out though I guess.
Hahaha what on earth where the developers thinking while making this?

2 is a more immersive and cinematic experience. One is more of an old school shooter. Both are great.
HL2 is good, but overrated. The following episodes improved on it, but the guns and mechanics always felt horrible and kinda 'plasicky' to me, as did most things in the game. I dunno how to describe it other than being plasticky

hl2 is awesome, well worth the play through.
I must be the only person ever that really didn't like HL2, got it as part of the Orange Box years ago, tried to play it and could only just stomach about 3 hours before I succumbed to massive boredom. I still haven't finished it to this day, and never even installed Eps 1 and 2.

You're not alone, it's wasn't that great a game for me either, though I think I liked it more than you by the sounds of it. The episodes are good though imo.

Anyway, yeah, 'tis good, but I don't think it was as awesome as the original. I really hated the fact that you didn't have a *real* rifle, something I loved in the original (I don't count the combine one, it's "special"). Some of the achievements are truly rage-inducing (Never did get that gnome into space...).

@compboyo - Whatever you are currently doing, stop it. Instead, go and buy either portal, or the orange box, then install portal. Do nothing else until this has been done. Your video gamer life is currently incomplete, you should seek to rectify this asap.
ha i was playing portal the other day....this joke is related to portal right. Game is ok is 2 the same..its just a puzzle game not great. some fun i guess. I am stuck on 1 in so i gave up. DOnt know how to do it. Ill youtube it later.
as for the strip. Its a great idea.
I stopped gaming for 5 years. When I got back into gaming I could buy all the old games for 0.50-5.99 and dont need latest hardware
Except level loading times.
And enemy AI (especially marines).
And ability to free roam (well, it's not exactly free roaming, but you are led along the garden path considerably less than in HL2, which is pretty much on rails).
I liked them both, but I liked the first better.
