Old pc builder needs some advice

Hello guys, quick update.
So I did some research and have made amendments to the build. I've ordered as follows:-

Amd R7 7700
Kingston KC3000 2TB M.2 2280 Gen4 NVMe SSD
MSI MAG FORGE 100M Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case.
MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX Motherboard
Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 CL36 AMD EXPO DIMM Memory
MSI MAG A850GL 850W Full Modular 80+ Gold PCIE 5.0 ATX3.0 -
XFX Radeon RX 6800 16GB SWFT 319 Graphics.

I wanted to get him something that will do him for a while so I spent a bit more.

What are your thoughts?

Many thanks

I'd upgrade the cooler, otherwise looks pretty good.

The assassin king mentioned above is pretty good (I've got one myself and very impressed by it running on a 3700x), but the peerless assassin is even better and is only ~£13 more.

They don't sell it here but you should be able to find it easily enough

Edit: I'd maybe change out the PSU if it's not too late to cancel, review here suggests there are better for the same/similar money:

I'd also change the case, but that's just because I don't think it's very good looking :P

I have to agree with you on the case it's not great.
With regards to the cpu cooler I did look at a water cooling block but its a case of how far do I want to go. I don't think the thermals on the 7700 are too bad with the standard cooler, although for little money I could upgrade for peace of mind.

Thanks for the advice

how much is the 6800 GPU? the 7800XT was just down at £480 though up on OCUk(they've raised prices by £30) and haven't checked away yet. The 6800 15 game av is 93fps (low 74) for 6800....vs 108(low 89) for the 7800xt, so close to 20% faster and is a step up imo, and maybe worth it depending on price of the 6800..same vid they have cost per frame same, so variable becomes where you can get card and at what price which can skew it, hence worth a look, esp as they're using US pricing

I'd look at the tuf board also below..on offer and solid board. Not sure I'd plum for the 7700 cpu for £300 over the 7600X below for £200...the 7800X3d was just down at £329 which is the best gaming cpu you can get but that's up again also, but would rather get that if spending £300 odd.

Hi and thanks for the reply, the systems built now and runs really well! Just gotta update the bios on the motherboard. Its running win 11 Pro.
Only limiting factor is his monitor as its not even 1440p. He can wait for his birthday before I get that for him.
I'm even thinking about building myself one around the RTX4090 oc
