What's the best way to get rid of them? They're fully working and have their installation CD's but they're not use to us anymore, will a charity take them or do you need to call a special company to take them away?

you can just give it away, i would suggest stripping and creating a media pc, or mess aboutwith linux etc if it was me

Our computers are taken by a company called re-commit. afaik they see whats good/bad and do charity stuff with them. they come to you, organise all the transprt etc. so no worries.

Obviously remember to remove/wipe/destroy any hard drives before giving away of course.....

But we all knew that already ;)

LOl who remembers the guy that had loads of porn and pictures of an ex naked on them and couldn't get rid of them but had already put it on ebay? Then corrupted the hard drive trying to do it?

Just wondering, is it better to sell a PC without HDD or shall I sell every part separately. Surely, I won't get same amount, if I sell it with HDD and Windows.

BTW, how much will you pay for this. It's Dells, still under warranty, lol. But, I have no idea what to do with it.

70GB of porn, including pics of his ex & the drive was on e-bay? I swear this guy was just trying to drum up interest in his auction :p

He should have just deleted the dozen or so pic's of his ex and left the other 69gb of porn on there, I mean, you wouldn't bother trying to retreive pictures you never knew existed if there was 69gb to 'play' with.

Darik's Boot and Nuke is handy if you need to wipe the hard drives before you give old kit away.

Worse case take it up the tip, if your a business you will probably have to pay to get old PCs taken away (probably around £15 for a base unit and CRT monitor).

You can't just throw PCs into the normal rubbish.
