My mates used to run an internet cafe back in the day, which happened to have two rooms with six PCs hooked up to a LAN. It was as if someone designed it for CS. Haha. I spent many a Friday night not getting drunk but battling it out there instead.

Ah yeah, that would make sense as I think the finals that this was feeding was in Korea I think, from memory.I think that was the year before, our one was at the iseries in Newbury.
Oh wow, some of us took our own PC's and Laptops but not on those precarious-looking stairs!Reminds me of a friend who for some reason had the use of some rooms above a nightclub which we used to LAN (think his mum owned the club or something) - though also plenty of alcohol involved. Second photo in the image below - we had to drag everything up and down 3 stories high sequence of metal stairs:

Was fy_poolday for me, the most basic, small, DM map you've ever seen but used to just transfix me.Id love a revival or the War3craft mod servers, used to live on those back in the day. That and some classic surf maps.

Used to play with Bom and the M2S lot at the time. Bubble’n’Squeak left M2S to join the BEERZnWORMZ lot for a while. That site takes me back! I can remember all those old teams and names like it was yesterday.
I was in 6K for a little while but not Lastchance. Was in M2S back in the early days of Wireplay/Barrysworld with Stoney Strider KingKiller Brim Bom, I remember Bom(BombayRoll) being amazing. I swear I was in 4D too at one point, I was in so many teams
Yeh he was one of the best UK players, he went by the name of Liquid before that
Know the feeling, I do think the skill level is much greater than it ever was too, average players in cs2 would have been very good way back when.Used to play with Bom and the M2S lot at the time. Bubble’n’Squeak left M2S to join the BEERZnWORMZ lot for a while.
Bom wanted me to trial to take his place at (I think) D2C when he was moving on, I really was that good.
I miss being good at CS. Still play CS2 once a week but only a couple of games and not enough to grind the ranks.
Aye it’s a fair point!Know the feeling, I do think the skill level is much greater than it ever was too, average players in cs2 would have been very good way back when.

You're spot on. All this learning of smoke/molly/fb lineups really grinds on me, as I'm still in the old skool run and trust your aim modeAs with many games like this what has changed is the meta - pure gun play and reaction times to a degree has been superseded by understanding the mechanics and strategy - you see some gamers with very not great movement and aim doing very well because they are cognitive of the odds, etc. though you still get some old school players with top level aim, etc. and a good understanding of the mechanics who can rock even the top tier new generation(s).
hello! That's a good claim to fame though bud, was effectively the moment 4kings stopped being the best and dignitas caught up? Was that what first put rattlesnk on the map?
And my boy Dannypunt. He ended up playing with us for a bit in the later years, albeit on a very un-serious level.

I have been inspired to give CS2 a whirl, wish me luck!
