Old Slang

Apparently up north they call a pencil a 'vein'.

I take it you mean the north of England? A pencil is a pencil up here. Anyhoo ......

Bawheid - large head or over inflated ego
Buckled - very, very drunk
Hackit - not very attrative

There's also a lad in another fire station known as Boabie Buffalo Heid on account of a huge napper (head) which isn't helped by the large quiff he sports.
 
"beard" or "itchy-beard" springs to mind, meaning unbelievable. Usually emphasized with a chin rubbing beard stroking action :)

Anyone remember this? Or was my school just wierd?
