I would love to see a remake of Paradoid (c64),
Do you know, you are the only person I've ever seen that knew about that game?
It was one of my favourites. :)

Raid Over Moscow (C64)
The Last Ninja (C64)
Bruce Lee (C64) -or even The Goonies
Paradroid (C64) - I loved the music to this game
Shadow of the Beast (Amiga) - I think that's what it was called. It was a side scrolling platformer from Psygnosis

I'm actually really glad to hear that BoulderDash is coming out on the PSP, but it doesn't have Rockford from Zzapp64 magazine in it like the original did :(

Last Ninja
Creatures
Paradroid
Alleykat

all C64. Damn there were some great games around then. I had a C64 my mate had a speccy. Double Dragon on the speccy was a good one for two player too, C64 version was awful compared.

Project 1 by Coma (amiga)
Alex Kidd (the origional from mastersystem)
Operation wolf (amiga)

Loads of games on the amiga such as nebulus, shadow of the beast, dog fight (simple 2/3/4 player plane game on the same screen)

how am i forgetting brutal sports football?

While I reckon a lot of games in this thread would suck if remade, I've gotta admit that I wouldn't mind a modern Road Rash game.

I think we need to choose carefully - just because something was a good game at the time, doesn't mean to say that a remake would be any good. Some games are just overly simplistic and/or had already reached pretty near the maximum of their potential.

Take Dizzy for example. Cool game on the 8bits. But aside from implementing a save/checkpoint system, how can we genuinely improve it for the PC? Is it really going to drag us away from Oblivion, Bioshock et al? I remember seeing a remake somewhere (yolk folk?) and as I suspected it wasn't anything special.

My own personal choice would be Elite, as it's the best game ever produced. BUt simce it's already been mentioned I'll go for the Ultimate: Play The Game range.

Underworlde
Sabrewulf
Knight Lore
Lunar Jetman

Although, if I'm going back to that particular era of gaming then I feel I should mentipon the sublime 'Finders Keepers' too. Possibly one of the greatest 8-bit games ever made.
