Ole or Becks on the wing ? (Man Utd related :) ).

I will tell u why united are playing well atm, 1 reason only, fergie hasnt got the problem trying to accomodate keano, veron and scholesy in the same team he has gone back to playing a 4--4--2 system again.

Spot On!!! I've been saying it for time and time, but thats the way we play best and thats what we should stick to.

I'd keep the system and team we've got at the minute and leave Beckham on the bench for the Chelsea game, but theres no question he'll be back, and Solskjaer will be on the sideline again.
Shame really cos IMO he should start every game upfront with Ruud.

When Keane returns hes gotta go straight back in, hes our best player, no question. Drop Phil Neville to the bench along with Veron and play Keane and Scholes alongside Giggs and Beckham, best midfeild in the country.

TBH i also think there are better players in the team than Beckham:
Obviously Keane and Ruud.
Scholes,
Giggs,
Solksjaer,
Silvestre might even come close now.
But Beckham is still to valuable to the club in other ways, like shirt sales.

i have this feeling Veron has something in his contract that if fit he has to play because last season at times he was very aweful yet still got selected.

It's probably because Fergie can actually see what an unbelievable talented player Veron actually is. I mean common - Robert Pires had some dire games when he first came to England. Both Veron and Pires came from Italy, where a slow patient kind of football style is played and joined Premiership clubs. We all know how much quicker the Premiership games are, so it is not suprising that it took Pires so long to adapt to the way it is played. Veron could only learn by playing, and now that he has been playing regularly, I think we are abouts to see the best of the man.

pires came from france though :p

otherwise i agree u gotta give the guu a proper chance before saying u should get rid of him, pires wasnt all that when he came but when he got used to it we all know how good he is

he still had nothing other than a dire first season at arse

worse then verons first if you ask me but not noted as much because of the less pressure upon hiim to perform in the arse side at the time.

Pires signed from Marseille for cool £5.5 million....a bargain really since he would fetch about £25 million now. Before playing at the Velodrome he played for FC Metz. He came to the attention of the british media after a couple of enterprising displays against Man United and Chelsea in the champions league.

thanks for the info i had no idea about it, he did set up the goal which france scored in extra time to win the euro cup

Pires must have been close to signing for Juventus when at Metz or something because that is way to random for me just to think up. Hmmmmm. I feel all silly now ;)

Still, my point about Veron needing to be given a chance to settle into the hectic style of the Premiership stands :)

Matey, why the sad face? Too much Championship Manager is a GOOD thing :) It's something that impresses the ladies...."Yeh one season I took Carlisle to Champions League Glory without spending a penny!!!! You might not remember it but I honestly did it :)"

1) Sell Keane now while some teams still have some money. He was one of the best players we have ever had, I even had one of the eleven tables at my wedding named after him. But the best thing United can do now with Keane is sell him. He's an expensive burden we can live without.

2) both Beckham and Solskjaer should play on the right side of midfield. Where you put them in the starting line up is mostly irrelevant if you allow them both to wander. Ole loves to score goals and Beckham loves to make goals, play them both and enjoy.

3) Beckham CAN (and does) tackle and dribble and even occasionally runs at defenders, but he knows that he serves the team best by crossing the ball on to the head of Van Nistelrooy, or Solskjaer if the opportunity presents itself.

4) Phil Neville, as both United and England have found to their cost, can make apalling decisions and clumsy tackles resulting in dire consequences. I have to admit that, so far, he has done well in midfield, but it's not like United have a shortage of world class midfielders, another one we should sell while there are willing buyers.

Pires was awesome way back when Toon played Metz in Europe many years ago.

I think Solskjaer is quality on the right, very good against toon, almost like the Kanchelskis days

The Baby Faced assasin should stay out wide, and becks should play as the central member of the upper midfield united now play with, when scholes is unavailable of course.
Becks would be better upper mid, he can get a couple more shots on goal, and his range of passes would be better utilised, and his average pace would not be a problem, wingers need to be fast, With a center mid player it isnt so important.

I personally think Man U could do with selling a few players

most of the midfielders. I think scholes is far too over rated keane is a liability with his uncontrolable rage. Beckham has one tallent which is his crossing ability and Veron is just as good.

I would (and get flamed for saying this) sell Becham Scholes and Keane. I would play giggs veron butt and the baby faced assasin.

With the 100 odd million man U would get for these players. I would buy a few subs or invest it into the future and use it for scouting young tallent.

Man U is ageing. its not a good sign.

Have you actually been watching Scholes in recent weeks??

He has been fantastic and has been one of our best players in the recovery, he won man of the match at the weekend. He is regarded by most people as one of the most technically gifted players in the country and if Inter Milan think he is worth £30million then he cant be that bad. So me thinks ye comment is well wrong.

We will see bout massive cos he says he is gonna calm it down a bit when he gets back. Beckham does have two talents, passing and crossing, the second of which has not been seen for quite a few seasons now. Veron is playing excellent at the moment because he is in charge of the midfield which he needs to be to play well but when Keano comes back i expect Veron's form to drop again. :(

The only players i would sell is Veron if his form goes back to old.

We need to improve the squad especially up front so i cant see unless we start playing as badly as before again many players leaving.

Agree with what you are saying except for selling Veron. The guy cannot maintain world class form forever, no one can. And personally, I believe Manchester United have more than shown that they can play without Roy Keane. So if I'm honest, I would seell him.

Although we all know that Fergie is so far up Keane's anus that he's tickling his ribs!!!
