OLED Monitor when it doubles up as a work monitor?

I've been using my Samsung G9 OLED for work for almost a year now and had no issues with it whatsoever, no burn in etc. I've not even taken any "preventative measures" either, just using it as normal with the native monitor protection features on.

Really like the side by side input mode where I can effectively run 2 x 27" @ 1440p so work laptop stays on one side whilst PC on the other, I can also just go full screen mode with either at any point.

Nice setup and a proper bargain that :)

Is that a live desktop wallpaper?

Thanks:)

Yes, I've made a WallpaperEngine playlist and set it to change wallpapers in 5min intervals.

Just an additional preventive measure but I think most of those screens will be fine with just some varied usage and regular pixel tefreshing, though I trust WOLED over QD-OLED when it comes to burn-in resistance.

Having said that, it's just luck of the draw sometimes.

Have to say that as good as these QD oleds are, the panels are ridiculously difficult to clean :(

Smears just do not come off no matter what. Why design them like that??

Yeah, have said that in my little rant last time:P
An absolute nightmare to clean and gets microscratches from looking at it (thankfully, not that noticeable even when examining the screen closer).

Text quality is absolutely a valid concern, "way less of an issue than it's made out to be" is purely subjective, especially that 4k 32 inchers have both higher res and the updated pixel layout, something that UWs don't have. Wouldn't have been brought to attention as much if it wasn't distracting for users.

I'm not saying it's utterly terrible and I can live with it but it's definitely noticeable coming from a VA and something to have in mind if someone's planning to work on it for 8h.

cleaned my QD-OLED yesterday
dabbed pure water and wiped with a cheap microfiber cloth with some pressure. Looks like new to me, have not inspected for micro scratches

Maybe Burn-in is much less of an issue now and more a thing for the earlier OLED's like in 2017.

I was still scared of it and opted for the 2 monitors option one for work one for pleasure 43" VA panel for work and 48" OLED for gaming.

Burn-in can still happen but if you take some basic precautions, there should be no issues, especially with burn-in coverage.

I told myself that if I can upgrade to a qd-oled for a good price, which I have have managed at a really good one TBH, I won't even think about it.

I now have exclusively OLED screens and the 55" C2 for PS5 and movies is perfectly fine after two years (I haven't specifically avoided HUDs etc.), the QD-OLED ultrawide for PC is too recent of a buy to say anything but I just use live wallpapers in rotation, ultrawidify for YT and autohde taskbar.
Other than that, I just do what I'd normally do and stick to the recommended pixel refresh intervals.

Two monitor option is also perfectly fine if someone isn't comfortable with the risk of burn-in and tbh, I still wouldn't get one purely for 8h of Excel a day or something like that.

I hope the tech matures enough that everyone will be able to enjoy it without worrying or we get more miniled FALD options.
