OLED monitors

Can you double up on connections somehow? Displayport 1.3 is already outdated because the maximum is 4K @ 120hz 4:4:4 with 24bit color. But HDR will take out a great chunk too.

You think then that the response times are going to offer a much superior and true no blur experience than 240hz on my Eizo? I do not even think i would want 240hz i think 120hz feels great, Just need to swap VA to OLED and i would be happy it seems.

They're more responsive than any type of LCD, so yes motion clarity will be better anyway. Also aside form being able to do absolute blacks and more degrees of brightness than the LEDs used to backlight LCDs, each pixel is individually emissive (not backlit or sidelit or anything like that), so brightness / darkness is extremely localised ... motion and contrast should look much better. Once production is high enough and costs low enough, LCD isn't really competitive at all ... emissive quantum dot (rather than QD filters which are appearing already on high end TVs and a few monitors) is what will compete with it in future, if they can make it cheap enough.

Utterly expected pricing! But don't worry, it's just a sign of things to come. Don't forget that the first consumer UHD monitors were around $3500 when they launched (they used IGZO IPS-type panels) that price and that was only a couple of years ago. I also expect the street price to be lower - and obviously when there is competition, reduced significantly. It's just a shame all of my Dell contacts are out of office currently. I'll definitely be needing some more information on this. :)

I'm sure my questions would be similar to yours:

1. Does it have DP 1.3 or dual DP 1.2, or limited to just Thunderbolt 3? (If so that makes this virtually a laptop connection only display)
2. Does it actually do native 120 Hz at 4K, and if so at full 8-bit dynamic range or higher RGB color?

I'm pretty sure given a monitor of this calibre, that it will support the full feature set us USB 3.1 with Type-C connector

DisplayPort over USB-C

- Full DisplayPort audio/video (A/V) performance (up to 8K at 60Hz)
- SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.1) data
- Up to 100 watts of power over a single cable
- Reversible plug orientation and cable direction
- Backwards compatibility to VGA, DVI with adaptors
- Supports HDMI 2.0a and is backwards compatible with previous versions.

Having only a Thunderbolt 3 connection would NOT be a good thing. It would essentially limit the display connection only to a Laptop.

Bit of a sweeping jib there man? whats ur beef?

if u care to read the XR34 thread there aint too many unhappy customers

and how can u call them overpriced in comparison to the figures being branded about concerning the OLED screens?

Many called the Acer XB270HU for the best gaming monitor ever, even LTT to name just one big name and what a load of crap that is unless ofcause you dont care about BLUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and overshot. While the color shift on the ROG SWIFT was bad and i had to return it due to that and a dead pixel, the god aweful blur and overshot of the acer is fare fare worse.

Conclussion 99,9% of people would call a high gloss 10hz monitor with gaming stripes and a green theme and a cool name for awesome because = marketing and price = good product right?
