Oled screen cleaning

Use a microfiber cloth dampened with a few drops of distilled water. If that doesn’t work, try a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) on the cloth, never spray directly onto the screen. Gently wipe in one direction without pressing hard. Let it dry before turning the monitor back on. cheers

Ive been cleaning mine with some whiteboard cleaner spray from work with a microfiber towel and it comes up like new with zero streaks. Ill have to look up the brand of what I'm using tomorrow.

Started using it on my glasses originally and it worked better than the stuff opticians sell lol
Turns out what i've actually been using is "Fellowes screen protector spray" which works surprisingly well. I didn't even realise it was screen cleaner as i had been using it on my glasses originally. Does a fantastic job on my monitor though!

These are what I have. 1 box lasts years. I bought mine in 2017.

It is good enough for my £2,000 Sony G-master lens which is full of coatings, it is good enough for a monitor. For a big monitor it might take 2 wipes but for small areas 1 wipe is enough.

I ended up buying these just to see how they'd perform + I can use them for my glasses.

Not damp enough wipes to use in tandem with a microfibre cloth fast enough without streaking on my two QD-OLED Displays but great for lenses.

Isopropyl 70% on a cotton bud on affected area + quick wipe with microfibre cloth has served me well with no streaks left, I will look into the screen cleaner products mentioned as an easier solution is always welcomed.

Just my experience anyway.

It was only months later after using my 32" QD OLED monitor, that I noticed that the screen was filled with what sort of looked like grease stain from the kitchen. The filth was suspiciously uniformly distributed around the entire surface, everywhere the same sized dots.
However, as nothing else is covered in grease around on the desk, I simply concluded that the filth must have been some residue from the thin film I removed from the screen on day 1.

I have stopped eating certain foods in front on the monitor, because I would like to not have to clean this repeatedly, like with my old 27" IPS monitor.

I still am unsure if repeated cleaning with the recommended cleaning solution (Gigabyte's website) will damage the panel surface or not. They have a list of do and don't, but even though they mention a mix of distilled water and ethanol, they NEVER mention isopropyl alcohol, which imo is weird, if it might be important.
My covid surface cleaning bottle, only says 85% Alcohols, not a word if it is ethanol or something else. So I mixed distilled water with this stuff, at least used once, but I can try simply use water and a clean microfiber cloth the next time, to see if that is good enough.

The Zeiss wipes are good. But they have a few limitations.

1. They get very dry quickly. You maybe get 30 seconds of use out of them before you are basically like dry paper.

2. If you keep using them when dry they tend to flake.

They are designed for lenses, which is a much smaller surface area. So you will need a couple for a monitor.

I got a multipack of these I use with a dab of water. Not needed anything else.
