The screen technology can be made to work well. What buggers things up is poor signal quality, bad setup, and aggressive video processing. These are both problems of the retail TV industry.We've got a couple of 24" Sony OLED broadcast monitors in work for QC and edit grading, we bought them to replace our ageing CRT monitors and the picture and colour grading is fantastic. They cost £3.5K each, which in pro kit terms is not actually that bad.
5 figures would be £/$10,000+ But there's plenty of information to suggest Samsung pitching at $5,000-$7,000 (USD) at launch.I expect the 55" sets shown at CES will be be mega expensive. I'll be extremely surprised if the price tag is under 5 figures.
