Oliver Postgate R.I.P.

Searched the forum and was surprised this hasn't been posted today.

The man created, Bagpuss, Ivor the Engine, Clangers and Noggin the Nog. He was a Childrens entertainment genius and had the most comforting and welcoming voice that was perfect for the role of a storey teller.

With his passing a massive part of my childhood has gone

but what a legacy of work he leaves us.

I'm not old enough to have seen it firts time around but I have recently watched it on DVD, Postgate doing what he did best

It's so sad when a part of your childhood is lost. I remember the music from Noggin the Nog was really spooky and made me feel really uneasy. Bagpuss and the Clangers were brilliant and I loved Ivor the Engine.

Sad day indeed, but his family have a lot to be proud of.

Pogle's Wood is my very first memory of television. Have to say Ivor the Engine was my favourite. Very sad to hear that he has shirtied his last cuff.
