Anyone watching this? Not the most interesting to watch I know, but as an amateur Im watching it to pick up some good habits...

Team GB already out though against Ukraine, who are now facing a pretty much perfect Koreans, just a shame about the Bieber haircuts...

EDIT: Sorry was talking about Mens Team

The bows they are using would cost around a grand for the handle and limbs.

Then you add a sight and stabiliser which would cost around another £300 or so.

EDIT: Koreans in trouble

Well mine costs £750 and I dont even use carbon, bet their arrows cost that much alone. At a real guess their setup must be over 2k

Mine is about £650 all told and that's with non carbon limbs and aluminium arrows. May go compound net yer just for a change...

I used to love archery as a kid, so I always enjoy watching it at the olympics. Plus it's one of the few 'sports' where a fat bloke can win gold :p

was brilliant to watch. A good spectator sport with the screens showing the targets to the audience.
most were shooting Easton X10's, £350 for 12!!!
some interesting v-bar setups, grips & pre-shot rituals.
2 of the target cameras behind the + got broke :-)

para-Olympics, they can shoot compound :-)

The mens and womens team finals have been fantastic. Right down to the wire!

I've gotta say though, Frangilli hitting that 10 to win was the best and most tense shot I've ever seen. Holy ****!!

If they were proper archers, they wouldn't need to use sights and stabilisers. Robin Hood never had them.

Pretty ignorant, without being rude. Recurve bows still require a hell of a lot of skill, even with sights. It's not the same as a gun sight, it only acts as a reference point. To consistently hit 9s and 10s as the pros do is mind boggling, and at 70 metres... And that's without even putting wind and rain into the equation. Men tend to pull about 50lbs of pressure every time they shoot, women a bit less. A compound bow however, I agree with you. I dislike them (personal opinion) because I think the modern recurve bows are at least true to the tradition of archery without getting too technologically fangly.

I expect robfosters comment was tongue in cheek ;). I cant do what they do at 50yds let alone 70m!

I hate compound myself - I do class it as 'cheating' as its so so easy to hold your draw and you can use telescopic sights too...
