Olympic Archery

I expect robfosters comment was tongue in cheek ;). I cant do what they do at 50yds let alone 70m!

I hate compound myself - I do class it as 'cheating' as its so so easy to hold your draw and you can use telescopic sights too...

Oh, then I apologise.

Getting more used to shooting 60yds, tried 70yds but grouping is all over the place & that's with the compound bow at low 40's draw weight.
It may be cheating but when you have a problem with your arm, the help from the cams is a godsend. Saying that, i'd love to get a Mongolian bow to shoot.

The 2 finals have been great & the "10" to win was sooo tense to watch.

I've enjoyed this morning's coverage. The short, sharp matches and the way they've grouped rounds close together gives the competition some momentum and continuity.

But I'm getting a little tired of seeing competitors with bits of tape plastered over logos. This whole sponsorship mess has got out of hand this time. I've just seen one woman with the Adidas badge on her chest left in plain sight, but the three striped shoulders taped over. It draws attention to the 'hidden' logo, rather than disguises it.

Completely daft, but then I guess the Olympic organisers and their brand "ambassadors" would say the competitors know the requirements in advance and could wear something else.

Sorry I meant it more in terms of Olympics and why its banned than an amateur using it - with a previously torn rotator cuff I know exactly why you use Compound over Recurve, Im still only in the low 30s draw weight wise for that reason, be a while til Im hitting much further than 50yds...

I missed the Womens Team so need to catch up on that - really enjoyed the short format, but I would never be comfortable shooting 8 arrows individually, that just takes some insane execution...

Think the format has been spot on for the Team events. Even my OH has enjoyed watching it.
My best from 72 arrows has been 509, that was 4 doz. at 60yds & 2 doz. at 50yds. Very windy day as well.

Regards the logo stuff, non of the "non approved logos" appeared to be covered during the team events. Can imagine some jobs worth "logo protection" person trying to say to the archer, "sorry, Easton are non approved, please tape all the Easton logo's on your arrows".
Its ridiculous.

Only person I could see beating her is the other Korean girl (forgot her name :o) although there have been some upsets along the way.

Edit: Lee Sung Jin, just came on now... Watch her get knocked out now I've jinxed her :p
