Well aparantly the course was tested a year ago and amendments made to all countries satisfaction but, like some, I can't help but feel the course could have done with a good long, jumpless, straight to really see who was the fastest.

Agreed. Like the commentators said, if they raced again in 10 minutes the outcome could be totally different. This shouldn't be an Olympic sport IMO.

Saying that, it was fun to watch.

There's nothing wrong with the unpredictability. The only thing that made the 100m interesting was speculation that Blake could beat him in it. It gives everyone a fair chance to win and unlike other sports like running and Swimming it won't be completely dominated by a borderline genetic freak like Phelps and Bolt :p.

So the qualifiers, quater finals and semi finals are all multi race events, but then the final is a 1 race event?

Why not make the Tennis final 1 set while they are at it.

May as well have just had one race at the start and cut out all the rounds as they don't seem to do anything. If it has been down to 2 in the final I could see the point.

But there isn't a chance of other runners crashing into you in the 100m, that's why it's a fairer test. If the BMX was just a straight run in the final from start to finish, that would at least be honest, but they add extra track that just seems a bit pointless (not much in the way of passing).

Either have a drag race style straight run, or make the track a bit larger. Would it not be possible to do a looped track and have a few laps?

I like the sound of an actual circuit track and have a few laps.
