Olympic Road Cycling

Cant wait for this on saturday.

imo the only team/person capable of beating Cav is Boonen, looking at the GB squad I cant honestly see Cav blowing it.

I think Peter Sagan is still his greatest threat, but his problem is that he is the only Slovakian rider, so doesn't have anyone to work with him. That said though, he muscled over many of those climbs to win the green jersey on his own, so all he needs to do is get over Box Hill and get on the back of somebody else (likely Cav's) wheel.

This will go right past my house, they've had the barriers up since Monday. It'll be a nightmare to travel anywhere, i intend to flee London on the Friday and not return until the race is over.

Where do you live Veco?

I saw a team car come through Central London today with four Cervelo bikes mounted on the roof. Not sure who it belonged to though.

Goes right past my house and the TT is round the corner.

Gonna be a hard race and crashes are going to upset the form book; the second lap of Box Hill starts with a very sharp left turn where the road narrows sharply. If the peleton is pretty large at that point it could get messy.

Still haven't decided what to do yet for tomorrow.

Never got a ticket through from that Zico festival. I'm worried that the other unticketed festival is going to be rammed with no bike parking left. It would also be quite a long ride with all my camera gear in my backpack.

I've seen on bike forums that many who have official tickets are so worried about bike parking that some think people may have to give up tickets if there is nowhere they can safely leave their bikes to go in. TFL is also reporting that the Mall will be insanely busy.

I'm wondering whether I should try for Richmond Park, although I obviously wouldn't get to see numerous laps, which is where Box Hill wins.

Away they go:
