I just today setup my BENQ 27" XL2720Z and its amazing,

I was orginally unsure if I had made the right decision and I HAVE,

the screen in excellent with gaming an so so smooth,

I can see why people are getting excited about the new ASUS ROG thats due out

Does anyone know if we're ever likely to see any 1440p monitors running at 120/144hz? I fancy a new larger monitor but it seems a shame to stick at 1080p when making the move.

LOL are you Kidding :0 we are due to have an ASUS 2560x1440 out soon with 120/144hz

I'm not too impressed with these 144hz monitors.
The vg248qe that I have now has really bad washed out colours compared to my old samsung 2233rz.
3d vision is much better though

The 27" Gsync monitor is going to cost £600+, These costs half that.

Benq have them on the way. I think once there is more choice and competition prices will drop. The Asus Rog may be £600+ as it'll be first to market.

No, the 2233RZ is a TN panel. All of Samsung's 120Hz models have been TN and have had much better image quality than the VG248QE and 24" XL series. The poor setup of monitors like the VG248QE (do what you like on the OSD, things just don't look as they should) have caused many people to dismiss the poor image quality as something down to the TN panels. But that isn't the case at all.

Image quality on the Benq 27" 120hz I just bought is great but I really do regret not putting the bit of extra money towards it for the "Z" 144hz version

144Hz 1080p is not much different than 1440p/60hz, so a single high end GPU is enough for FPS gaming.

Lol I know I know it's a typo but honestly I had the asus 27-inch pb278q 2560x1440 and at 60hz I did not have as much detail as I have with this
