OMG WTF?!

I've just left it. I figured theres no point risking breaking the motherboard whilst I want to use it. I'll just wait untill I actually want to replace it and then it wont matter so much if I break it trying to get it out :)

Having a problem fitting my hard drive in this case though, my ram heat sinks get in the way of the hdd cage so I had to take it out. Also my PSU is a little big and blocks one of the fan holes lol

What case is this? It sounds like a disaster. Cut it loose and buy a new case I say! I do feel at the very least you should take it to the shop.

It's a LAN-Gear Da Box 100. So a very small MATX case that can fit a 5970. Link: http://www.lan-gear.com/langear-microATX

So size may be an issue.

I have to say though, not heard about the standoffs being an issue before. Maybe your mobo has particularly big holes?

bit extreme really when the problem just lies with the standoffs being too thin.
I would go with the wooden wedge under the mobo idea BUT combine it with getting a punch or similar item and tapping the standoff through the hole in the mobo to free it up.

Sounds like the whole mobo is gonna have to be lifted out without bending it - it's probably pinching against the stand offs as you try to lever it off. I suggest packing it gently with some small homemade wooden wedges as close to each standoff as you can then gently press the mobo from the cpu access hole - then gently push the wedges a little more and press the mobo again, keep repeating without being forceful, hopefully once it starts to drift off in one or two places it will come easier.

Well I just left it and finished the build. Had to stick my mechanical hdd to the side of my psu with velcro pads though :D

I will upload some pictures eventually.

Well this is the e-mail I got back

Hello,

It was a known problem that on some motherboard it could happen.
It is hard to pull off the motherboard but it is possible.

But, why do you want to remove the motherboard ?
What can I do for you ?

Well known problem

So whats the solution? :D

Maybe do some research those attacking it.

It's an American company (hence the stupid name), but it's been set up by basically 2 guys, one of whom has really good customer relations on a thread on [H]. They do make mistakes and admit it, but they are trying (some people's patience :p).

Until recently, they were only available in US based stores, but they got a European distributor to get their name more widely spread (as the case is already pricey, it's best that the postage was cheap(er), and no VAT to add).
