Onda v975w Tablet - Windows 8 with 'Retina' Screen review.

I've had my v975w since around Xmas and I've had no issues with it. Battery life isn't great, but it never leaves the house so I can deal with that.

Of course being a Windows tablet it doesn't suffer from the usual Chinese Android problems of slow updates and crap coding. Its W10 update has been reserved and I'm looking forward to it.
 
Sale is now on for the Cube i7 Stylus. £195 shipped ( + import tax etc if it gets flagged).
Very very tempted to buy after I get paid at midnight and sell my Linx 10.
 
Are people buying these directly from the manufacturer website? I've seen it just now quoting £76 for Onda V975w Quad Core Win 8 Tablet 9.7 Inch Retina Screen RAM 2GB WIFI 32GB?!

to sanaxe1: You haven't tried a ps2 emulator on this per chance?

The v975w should have same performance as tablets like the t100 and dell venue pro. Just youtube ps2 baytrail and there are a few videos of what you can expect.
Guess Ill be putting my linx 10 up on the MM next week.

:eek: the page when I brought it was showing just 2 orders(itls been showing 2 for a few days), it's now over 1000. I better be first in line.

Alright good shout, I'm not expecting it to work really but it would be a bonus :) I'll prob end up picking one up for the mrs as she's saying her original ipad is starting to annoy her now (ancient tech :p)

Like a mentioned before, is there any reason as to why people are paying £150-£200 for theirs when it can be had on the manufacturers website for £100 using DHL/EMS/UPS Express Shipping?
 
Totally different make and model, we kind off hijacked the thread. (cube i7 stylus if you want to Google it)

We're looking at a core M machine several times more powerful.

Not at all sure this is the manufacturer; The official site is onda.cn

Would be interested to hear which sites people have used.

Yeah that's the website. Had a look last night with the reviews and worryingly there's a quite a lot of people saying their tablets have just packed up. I have to admit it's put me off somewhat.
 
Are these suitable alternatives to more recent Microsoft Surface models? Been looking at them recently but from reading around it seems like they have only just properly cracked the "one device" concept.
 
Depends what you want it for. Sounds like you want it for proper work. In which case the Chinese tablets keyboards aren't great. No kickstand and you would really want a 12" model.

Be better off waiting for surface pro 4 if it is for heavy use. Hopefully it'll have skylake which will further improve battery and heat.

That's where mine came from and it's working grand.
 
Well my cube i7 stylus has shipped, was considering cancelling it, house moving is costing way more than I budgeted for. But to late now.
Beans and rice for the rest of the month then.

Mine just shipped too. Paid for the middle shipping so hopefully in next next 2/3 weeks.
