Been around for 6 years so far and if the website is true, they've some decent large sized recognisable brands using them commercially.

But then, people spend thousands of pounds on MMO's that will eventually die, and any business is at risk of closing.

Big difference between being in business for 6 years and having a 6 year old 1TB for $30 for life product. The latter is a pyramid scheme and relies on a steady flow of new customers to pay for the old.

The company has been known to kill off certain products, and has a questionable privacy policy.

So a company that automates checking of content to stop itself being shut down and ALL their customers losing their data, as well as removing old plans and replacing with new ones to stop the same problem regarding illegal content is a problem for you.
Let us face it, both of those stories you've quoted are not what I would consider conclusive proof. I'm not saying that you might not be right but how many ISPs have closed accounts or suspended accounts for downloading torrents? I don't really see it as any different. After all, look at the issues some file sharing sites have had with illegal content being hosted.
