OnePlus X

My X just arrived.

It makes the Nexus 5 feel cheap and nasty! It certainly feels a hell of a lot more premium than the much more expensive S6. The screen is epic and crisp too, and the blacks are great.

The stock screen protector doesn't fully cover the screen, but then I'm not sure any will as the very edge of the screen starts to curve down before the actual display ends. I've removed mine and it feels like nothing more than a thin protection for packaging anyway.

I got a red silicone case which feels decent, but I will need to test the ease of it getting into and out of my pocket before coming to a conclusion.

Overall, so far so good for £200.
 
Got a new sim card yesterday so I can use it but have only had time to install a few apps.

It does feel like a nice phone but very strange getting used to something smaller again after having a Note 3 for two years.
 
Hardware buttons don't light up from what I've read, really happy with it so far, really feels like a premium phone and for ordering late on Thursday getting it today from China really is express delivery!!

Seriously though the screen on this phone is incredible it really does look great and the phone just feels really well built, some people have complained about its weight on other forums but I quite like the weight it has
 
It's not that heavy, it just feels it because its made of metal and glass. But the weight certainly gives it a quality feel, especially compared to the kids toy of the S6.

Are people using the on screen buttons? I quite like the extra screen from having them off, but I find the bottom buttons too low down, and them not lighting up is a bit off a bug bear.
 
Just noticed mine has started to state 'no SIM - energency calls only' when locked. Assume it's referring to the 2nd SIM that doesn't exist.
 
I've received my invite now which can only be requested through my email address...may pick one up even although I've moved on to an iPhone recently, which surprisingly I enjoy using after years of Android!

However this seems to tick a lot of boxes in terms of being a more than reliable back up for use when needs arise. The specs for the money are absolutely superb I have to say.

Strange, I signed up very late and got an invite within days.. decided to order and see how it is. Zero hassle so far & it might even show up tomorrow.

138g - same weight as the metal and glass S6.

Its a pain if the buttons dont light up, I would just use the on screen ones.

Same here i used to say ill never have a iphone then i ended up with one and enjoy using it but i fancy a change now only thing ide like to know more about is if the battrey life is decent.

Have tried a couple SD cards, but having the same issue as others on the OP forums have reported - won't read it / can't format it / can't use it.
 
Hmm... Random annoyance. Swiping down pulls down the whole setting shade in one go, so you then have to swipe up to get your notifications. It should swipe to just notifications and then take a second swipe to pull down the settings.

What versions of software does yours have?, I wonder if they are putting the latest version of Ox OS on meaning we can't use Micro SD's until they release the fix.
