OnePlus X

This threads interesting

https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/op2-sync-with-car-bluetooth.362911/

Mine is doing the same as theirs, in that it works fine (music and making and receiving calls) until I try and sync contacts, at which point it has a fit, and the unit in the car goes all mental and random. Last night the car wouldn't even enable Bluetooth so I gave up.

I'm going to try that app they recommend.

Edit: theirs a trial version of the app, which is habdy. And the comments are full of all sorts of android users having similar issues. Seems like there's a widespread 'oddness' in the Bluetooth contact sync.

Mine hasn't moved on from DHL from yesterday still showing as departed on the 12th from China, so I guess Monday-Tuesday best bet now.

Any comments on how good the camera is?

Good samples here

What sort of battery life have you guys been getting? Whole day? On screen time?

I saw around 4 hours of screen on time with a moderate day’s worth of use, but I could easily push this thing to 5 on a light day. Of course I’ve had my 3 hours screen-on time days during some heavy use, but overall it stands to compete against phones at a much higher price range

I've dabbled in android dev a little, but what always amazes me is the amount of time is takes a manufacturer to realease a new rom. Especially one which sticks so closely to stock.

Download the rom, inject your drivers and do a little tweaking. Send to test groups for a few weeks, fix bugs and release. Let's not kid ourselves that every rom ever released is bug free. Why the long wait? Especially since marshmallow is close to lollipop.

Because the starting point isn't when the new version is released, its from when you decide you want to do it.

very true, one would think they would have early access to beta builds to get a taste for it....yet that's not the case

Again, that's irrelevant. Is there a killer feature in Marshmallow that is holding the OnePlus phones back and causing a loss of sales?

No.

So why rush to fix something that isn't broken? I expect the dev teams focus has been on optimising the Lollipop ROMs for the recent 2 and X launches. It's not good practice to suddenly shift them to a new build mid development.

Marshmallow will come, when OnePlus decide its time. If you want up to the minute Android releases, buy a Nexus.

If anyone has an invite they could chuck my way id appreciate it a lot. Seems like a worthy upgrade to my Aging nexus 5

Honestly im not sure youd be happy with it, the cpu isnt that much better and its missing useful things like nfc, wireless ac and any decent roms for it at the moment.

Id stick with the 5 or if you do want get the new 5x

Oh :( I need NFC, I thought that NFC was pretty standard all devices had now. Might end up with the LG G3/G4 then at this rate. Itching to move to something else but it must be an upgrade or a damn good sidegrade

I must say, I love the fact I have no need or desire for NFC, Wireless Charging, and all these other things that just won't feature in £200 devices :p

:( I don't need wireless charging but NFC is a big one for me for automation purposes. I use one in my car to switch on my bluetooth and make it port everything to the head unit. One on my bedside table to activate a tasker profile for it to deep-doze etc

May look at the 6P i just think the 5X is too damn ugly, not sleek like the 6P or original 5

I don't own a car, and have smart profiles based on time of day, so I guess I'm lucky.

No doubt if I actually had a phone capable, I would use it, but ignorance is bliss as they say.
