Online Banking

First Direct by a country mile, ive used natwest halifax and now them and they are head and shoulders better.

Their phone and internet banking is superb. you phone a normal landline number and get straight through to and english person within 2 rings, no stupid press 1 for this roundabout menus, and they can usually sort almost anything out in less than 30 seconds worth of call.

Also, credit card payments to an FD credit card are instant, which is a nice touch, my other cards take 3 days to clear so if you pay on the day it's due you're overdue.

I use natwest.

They seem pretty good. When payday falls on a weekend I always get my money on the Friday, where as colleagues with other banks have to wait till monday.

Online banking is pretty good, and they have quite a few high-street branches.

With Natwest i can access my savings account, credit card account and current account under 1 log in which means i can move money across each instantly. They also provide a card reader so that you can only send money with the unique code it provides which adds that extra security to it.

This is true for me too.

I also have HSBC but haven't used many features. The logon is more annoying than my Natwest one too.

Halifax is one login for all accounts, you have a normal password and another where it only asks you for certain characters. If you send money to another account it asks for the password again. Seems decent security to me, also never had a problem getting any stolen money back as well, usually back in my account by the time i get of the phone.
Stolen money will always happen but for me its always been certain online shops never through the bank.

You can't transfer to a credit card instantly though, it takes 3 ****ing days with halifax, and I can't fathom why other than to try and catch you out with late charges.

Only problem I have with Barclay's is when they decide to randomly block a purchase I try and make, I have to ring them up and tell them to allow the payment, I've asked them numerous times to take off the extra security, but they never do. They've even blocked me purchasing from OcUK before! numerous times in fact.

I like the extra security which Barclay's give you tbh, I ordered something online from a site which I don’t use much over £100 and yes it got blocked and within 10mins I got a call from Barclay's to confirm if it was me or not. Rather be safe then sorry

I think sometimes it depends on how often you use your card in the day and how often you use it on websites
