At the start i went 4-4-2 but lost 2 - 0 at home to Man City.

So i changed to 5-4-1 with my new signing Robbie Keane upfront, and lost again.

I know my defense is awful but i only have like 5 million left.

Any advice? :)
4-4-2 / 4-3-3 / 5-2-3 are my always reccomended ones.

with the first two, always play wide or passing game.

5-2-3 long ball.

Thanks, will be going for a 3-4-3 next game i reckon. As im desperate for a goal.

Once i get a little more money i can strengthen my defense.

And get new midfielder :)
I didn't say that formation, it can be good. But if you use it agaisnt a good opponent like chelsea/man utd it won't work well, as you need players better or as good as opponent.

Yeah but i figured as i have Portsmouth next then its probably best

To attack like a mad man :p

Once i play a hard team, ill go 5-4-1 and hope for a draw like you said :)
I strongly think you shouldn't play 5-4-1

Have you seen how good im doing with Birmingham? :P

Not very good :p - Well neither am I, you just got to have some luck mate. To be honest, I don't find this game realistic compared to the likes of hattrick. Every game I've lost has been 1-0 and the detail/UI is poor. But still, its fun esp. when you've got some spare time :)

My reason being i made the league, and i've played before :p

I have the expierence, i have given advice to people and look, charlton and sunderland are pulling their weight and had some good results.

playing a defensive formation with absolutely no attacking options gives you two scenarios:

Draw
Lose

Play defensive with attacking options

5-2-3 being my favourite played with a long ball tactic.

best formations are 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 good defense and good attacking.

3-4-3 for all out attacking, but is hard to play well unless your team is strong agaisnt opponent.

You got to remember it's not a complex engine. And it's real to a certain extent. You just need to learn how to use the tactics properly.

How to train up your squad, who to sell, who to buy.

The big teams aren't always at the top and winning the leagues, just for us, i know what im doing so big chance i'm gonna be top and win.

The games good fun, doesn't take a lot of your time, it's basic.. thats whats good about it.

Gonna see what there both like :)

Cant believe I lost last night 1-0 to Arsenal :( Thefact that they had 63% of possession has really ****** me off as well! Both played 4-4-2, guess my team isnt as good as I though it was :(

Good luck with hattrick :)

It's a great game. Make sure you've entered correct details (address etc) otherwise they will 'close' your account, or give your team a fine (you start with £150k or £200k). If they close your account you won't be able to create a new team for 7 weeks. Your old team will be lost. Read the rules, too. Long but very helpful.

The aim of HT is to stick to a specific training regime and train your trainees and sell them at profit. Ofcourse you can then buy better players and improve in other positions (defence, attack, wingers etc). Oh yeah and another aim is to win the Premiership, duh! but that seems impossible for anyone who didn't start when the game was created (2001/2).

If you need some advice etc, give me a mail (trust) and I'll help you out :)

I'm finding 3-5-2 very good at the min, time will tell. in annother league I'm 10th with west ham, I use 5-3-2 againt equal temas, and 5-2-3 long ball against better teams, doing ok!

It's because I'm too good ;)

My 4-4-2 seems to be working wonders recently. Had a few 4-0's and things :D

Only lost 2 games. One was chelsea so that's not too bad and I'm seriously building up my squad.

Walcott is up to 90 so far. Been getting 2 extra each day. Never seems to fail training.

Also haven't been using Fabregas, and his stats are starting to dominate so will be fun to play with.

I've just joined the league on "Online Soccer Manager" and have taken on Aston Villa to see how I do. The board want 7th place for this season so will see how I get on.

I need to win.. with Macca having chelsea, lets be honest that's not going to happen. He's let in 1 goal in 10 matches or something stupid
