Online storage backup

Squirrelsave is the best one i've ever used, and i've pretty much tried them all from Crashplan to Mozy to Carbonite

Crashplan was probably the worst, as the restore speeds when downloading was absolutely abysmal, and hundreds of people were complaining about it

I've got 3TB on my Squirrelsave account, and i can download using their client (at full speed) or i can SFTP to the data from wherever i want

£5 a month for unlimited storage

Also tried Onedrive and absolutely despised it, but that's really only for pics and videos

Most people tend to only think about "How much data can i store on there" when considering the cloud.

Me, i prefer to ask "How quickly can i restore that data"

Crashplan wouldn't go above around 300KB/s when restoring (would upload fairly quickly but certainly not max my connection)

So if i needed to re download my 900GB of FLAC music, how long would that take?

Squirrelsave, i download at 5.5MB/s so would have it back in no time

It's really more of a single file storage I'm after rather than a complete backup solution.. OneDrive is looking good at the moment as I can use office 365 on my iPad and my wife can use it also.

How did you do it.. seems to keep throwing me to the UK store.

Just went on the US store and it stayed on there. Used the Googleplex address and paid with PayPal :p

Put my name down to be upgraded to unlimited storage earlier too. We'll see how long that takes!

Excellent.. going got order mine today.. where did you register for the unlimited storage?

Whats the speeds like for OneDrive? Tempted by it. Also I like the idea of CrashPlan encrypting but let down by its speed - does OneDrive do any form of encryption?

They probably use encryption for the file transfer.

My connection: 43/13

OneDrive: 16/4
Dropbox: 38.4/8
GoogleDrive: 38.4/13

Results are in megabits per second.
