Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. Msconfig. Then under boot advanced options. Above number of cores is a tick box uncheck it and reboot then back to msconfig boot and tick the box and see if you can select the right amount of cores. My one only said 2 cores before however speccy said 6 core. Did that for no real reason and it let me select six cores. After that it was massively quickerWheres this? In system config?

tbqh what happens is msconfig says 4 and wont let you go up to 8 i think he checked that early on its just for some reason unticking and rebooting seems to reset the counter.Personally I found unticking it to be best and it will go up to the maximum.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Coretemp will only show the physical cores and not logical cores? Use Task Manager and see how many logical cores it can see.
I'm surprised it took so many posts for someone to suggest checking msconfig.
