Oops License is a bit out of date!

I can't imagine being fined for simply having a licence expire. People might not need to drive for a few years, just like someone who doesn't need to travel abroad doesn't have to renew their passport.

My friend has renewed his licence ( currently still in date mind :p) also has no in-date passport so had to do it by post. It's now been 4 weeks and his one still hasn't arrived!

He's got a bit of a wait. DVLA have had my old photocard licence for 2 months with no movement

Post office can only do it on site if it's only expired by a certain amount, he laughed in my face when I said 4 years :D

Confusing old fashioned for with a tacky postal order sent off this morning

Oh no dont say that!

I was expecting a delay but that will cause problems (own fault of course)

Darn! Hope for the best

It's a bit crap, was supposed to be hiring a car at the end August but no card, no hire :/ I assumed 3 months was plenty of time but looking at their twitter, plans might have to change

Yeah it sounds like they are, understandably, falling behind due to covid, safe distancing meaning less staff in house and so on. Just bad timing for us then really. Fingers crossed you get yours in time.

The guy I spoke to on the phone did say more staff are returning to their offices each day so may start to pick up.

I may just do my passport too and hope 1 turns up quicker than the other:/

This. I'm pretty sure the fine is for driving with an expired licence, not just for having one
