Just sat here at work, sippin' on a coffee, got distracted, put down coffee, turned round, knocked over coffee, wiped out the keyboard.

Worst of it is, it's not just a normal keyboard it's a Cherry with built in MagScanner.. Both keyboard and scanner are dead. The unit costs £250, going by online prices! :eek:

And there's CCTV right behind me, so not only will my boss be able to see me skiving off this morning, she will also be able to see exactly who did the damage. Then me flailing about trying to damn the flood with tissues and screwdrivers jabbing at recesses trying to absorb the brunt of it!

You need to get access to the CCTV and remove the footage - I'm thinking Mission Impossible style. I'm pretty sure you can recruit your own IMF Team from this forum to help you out!

I if I leave a note in the handover book saying I was responsible, I reckon they will check back the footage, to be nosey.

I know there is some sort of legal issue with that as you're not meant to check back footage unless there's been a crime or something, but they do it all the time at my work and there isn't much in the way I can do to stop it

I've since cleaned the board thoroughly so you'd never know to look at.

Take the keyboard to the toilet, wash it down and dry it under the hand dryer. Put it back on your desk and phone IT Support to get a god damn new keyboard there asap as you can't get on with your work! Its all IT's fault then.

Or just swap it with another keyboard and then if someone asks - yeah I spilt coffee but I got lucky the keyboard survived!

I recommend taking off and nuking the entire office from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.
